i know theres not an All black Grill yet, but i was wondering if anyone has painted the Logo all black. im thinking 3 or 4 coat's and some Clear coat, to make it shine, would prob look Good, and alot more "clean"

anyone? or is this a bad idea?

 

Either Jamasco or Scionspeed did this on a white tC, saw it in their pics of the turbo chargfer.

gotta let it dry before you touch it lol...
first mistake... took off half of the paint like "tape"...
but yea 4 coats black... 2 or 3 clear.. dont remember..
i did it in my garage and took about a total of probably 3 minutes of spraying (painting)
and about 25 mins between for drying...
i drove it that day(cuz i had to)
no chipping (luckily)
and looks hot...

im thinkinga bout doing the engine bay parts next weekend....
or repaint the whole gril to glossy black like the emblem...
ill try to steal my bro's dig cam and steel some photos..

I thought about painting my grill white to match the car. what do you think?

 

i painted the front flat black and the rear body color..no clear on the front..just 2 coats primer and 3 coats of the flat so it blends w/the grille...front looks de-badged until you get close..only cost me $2.49 for the can of flat..

flatblack spray paint safe for outside exposure...
and just clear coat safe for outside exposure...

Hey purextc, looks good. What kinds of paint did you use and where did you get the mount for the front plate. I havent put mine on because, ah, umm, the bumper is cherry except for the paint chips.

you can get that front plate mount of eBay for like $13 i think. i bought mine before i even got the car but the stupid dealer ended up drilling the bumper anyway

 

Yeah, I smoked the fog lights, I have eyelids and side marker smoke as well as my third brake light. Everything on the car is black, I got engine enamel from autozone, its low gloss black with some clear, the bracket is from 808customs, I also did some stuff in my interior that I will have to post pics of. I'm getting more overlay to experiment with the reverse lights and possibly the whole rear tail light
