Alright guys, Well i search around here to see if anyone else has ran into my Problem...Seems that my Hatch Hydraulics gave out trying to take me out as well. Anyways, was wondering if anyone has ran into this and found a solution or is there anything i can do before actually replacing them....

you can always cut a broom stick to length and jam it in there when you open the hatch.

just make sure not to hit it when you're leaning in or you will find out how much the hatch weights coming down at full speed.

i might have to replace mine, they dont open all the way unless i open it all the way myself.

Last I checked the ones from Sparks were cheaper than generic ones form Autozone too.

no. A flat head screwdriver to pop the clip and they come right off

 

Hahaha ....Yea i wasnt expecting it to fall on me today while i was adjusting my subs. Caught it right on time before the latch got me. Went around town today getting some quotes, might replace them tomorrow if i get a chance.

 

Is there a possibility that the cold weather could be causing them to not open with as much force? Have heard that from others just wondering cause mine are doing the same thing.

It's A LOT easier also if you replace them when a buddies' help...

Yes. When the shocks are cold, they do not open as easily.

 

They are covered under warranty (The 36,000 mile one, not your 60,000 mile powertrain warranty).

Mine were replaced under warranty at about 35,000 miles. At 61,000, they are already having issues when the hatch opens. Common issue with heavy hatches.

 

did not know this. thought it was something like brakes.

i better remind myself this once i hit 35,500 miles.

 

Yep... if it is starting to open poorly, get it in when you are about to run out of warranty Let them pay for he next set. I think I was at 35,600 miles when I took it in :D

Its only been 7hrs since i posted this and i already forgot about my hatch....I went to the store, came out, opened the hatch, turned around to grab some bags, and when i tured back around my hatch was coming down already.

Im at 29,000 miles...Tomorrow im going to the dealership instead
