Having some serious alarm system issues. Please help!
First and foremost I apologize if I'm not posting in the right area. I'm new to this website and couldn't think of which better place to put my question. I also am sorry if this question has been posted, I couldn't find it
I got some stereo equipment installed, and some custom lighting. Somewhere in all the wiring it caused my alarm system to basically stop working.
It locks the doors still, flashes the lights, turns on the dome lights...all the normal stuff. But it doesn't actually arm the car. Meaning that I can "set" the alarm, and then manually unlock the door and open it with no sound or protest coming from the car. From there I can actually start up the car. So it's as if the security system is not working at all. What's more is that I also have a viper alarm system installed on my car, neither security systems are working.
Anybody have any idea why this may be happening? I thought it may be a fuse. Can someone tell me where the fuse for the alarm system may be located?
Thanks for any help that can be provided!

it doesn't sound like the problem its a fuse, sounds more like a bad connection...if you can still lock the car with the viper remote, then more than likely its not the fuse, maybe you cut a wire or pulled on a wire during the install or something along those lines. try checking for loose wires on the parts where you installed the lights
