Default headers question

Is it better to get headers b4 I take my tC to the dealership for a s/c install if I want MMW headers with an s/c? I'm not sure if it's possible to install the headers after the s/c is already attached =[

p.s. does any1 have a MMW header/AEM cai/ TRD s/c/Tanabe setup? if you do does it rasp much? the Tanabe exhaust is only an axel back so I'm not sure how much the headers wud affect the sound. any info wud be great help, thanks!

Well, it is easier to install a header before the S/C. You will have rasp.

i don't think the dealer will install the S/C if you have an aftermarket header. adding a header will also create a lot of rasp unless you get some resonators installed in your midpipe

they will still install it, but they will note it and possibly deny warranty should there be a problem.

before installing your header, get it ceramic heat coating to help lower under hood temperatures.

and yeah, you'll have rasp, get some resonators put on your mid pipe to get ride of it.

will the resonators guarantee no rasp because if theres anything that causes rasp I will refuse to install in my car. I love the deep throaty rumble of my tanabe and wudn't sacrifice it for some 10hp headers with a ricey fart can sound.

resonators will for sure get rid of the rasp. just go to an exhaust shop and have them build you a mid pipe with two 30" resonators and a hi-flow cat. that will guarantee no rasp

OP if the aem cai is on your car you have to put it back to stock because:

#1 the car won't run properly with a CAI
#2 if your 05/06 they need to reuse the top portion of the OEM air box
