Default headlight confusion

ok so heres my dilemma. i want to replace my stock 08 projector bulbs with HID's. everything is all good except when my low beams are running, theres a little bulb in the highbeam portion of the headlight that lights up too. so when i put the blue bulbs in for the low beam, the other little bulb still lights up the normal white color and it looks stupid. does anyone know what im talking about and how to replace that little bulb? any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

that would be your DRL (daytime running light)... they moved it to the high-beam reflector because they replaced the normal low-beam reflector with a projector obviously. you should look into getting some sort of white LED to replace it, as to not look silly. thats what i did, i got an 8000K kit, and then got a new DRL so i didn't have to look at that grosse yellow color.

our cars dont have DRL. that bulb is part of your parking lights, just put in a super white led.

I know that pre-'08 tC's don't have DRLs, but I'm not sure about the new '08's. Let me check...

....I don't see it, so I guess they don't have DRLs.

it's not a DRL. it's like an accent light that turns on with your parking lights and remains on when your lo-beams are on.

I've got an 05 but I ordered the 08 projectors and HID. The projectors should be here today. Can anyone tell me where I can get a good drop-in replacement LED for the parking lights that people are talking about here? I want to order it quick so I can take this thing apart once and switch everything out!

If your bulb is blue I'm guessing you didn't buy a real HID kit, just some cheap blue-colored bulbs. Therin lies part of the problem, when you use those "HID" bulbs (essentialy bulbs colored blue), you're actually emiting less light than stock hallogens. Less light from your headlights means your parking light will show more compared to stock.

Solution: buy a real HID kit

I'm not a big fan of all these blue bulbs. When off they reflect blue into your headlight housing, and that in my opion looks cheap. Just buy White LED's they might be more expensive (not really depending on where you buy it) but so worth it.

Okay so you didnt check the link so heres the picture of them on

And for the LED thing, youd rather have a piece of white plastic reflecting everywhere instead of the slight blue thats there because of the PIAA's? But to each their own

BTW to get the bulb out, grab the plug it goes into, and turn it towards the engine. Itll come right out.

Get the VARADS! Supa cheap and a good product! I just picked me up some in green.
Also, you might want to look into getting some mirror orange/chrome turn signal bulbs. That would 'clean up' the headlights very nicely.

Take out the runningn light and goto the parts store........it most likely is the 194 as that is what it looks like in mine.........why is yours blue...........mine is white.........or are your projectors blue with the new lights.........blue lights are just cheap ones and not really what you may want......find the matching replacement LED for the 194 bulb.........they are cheap to get............let me double check here you want the replacement bulb for the high beam parking light socket correct............on an 08..........it is the same bulb as the 07 low beam parking light....they just moved it over due to the fact it willnot fit...........hope that helps............
