Heater Issues...Need Help..
I have a 2005 tC. I bought it about 8 months ago and since then I've tried to figure out why i get hot air only on the driver side when the heater is on. I turn the heat on,
It blows through all vents but the whole passenger side doesn't get hot. When the A/C is on everything works flawless. If anyone has any input i would appreciate it.
Thx. I'm new to the site so I apologize if I've missed this in another post. Not really sure how to navigate through yet.

If it was locked in cold only, then that's probably why only cool air is reaching the passenger side when the driver is getting really hot. The a/c would work because the door that the servo controls would be locked in the cold position.
Now the big thing is would be how to diagnose that/test it. Should be easy. Start with the temperature in the cold position, you down by the gas pedal area listening. Someone else move the temp **** all the way to hot, quickly. You should hear a motor making noise. If you don't then that's why you're not getting heat. The servomotor went bad. The other test would be it might be a faulty hvac control board. Which is the board that the buttons and temp **** are attached to on the dash below the radio. That would require a multimeter to see if the voltage is even coming out of the temp ****'s controls.
But between both of these, that's most likely why you're not getting hot air out of the passenger side. The other servomotor was controlling the modes, like switching between floor or defroster, or the front vents. you were saying that works just that it's not hot. Just making sure.
EDIT: Found the part number for this in case you needed it.
SERVO SUB-ASSY, DAMPER (FOR AIRMIX)Part Number: 87106-12131

cool thx for the input. i figured it was a flap not opening all the way or something like that. i hear motors moving when i switch from hot to cold. so ill check the circuit board on the climate control switch. If i cant find anything i guess ill just have to start pulling the actual heater box apart to see if everything mechanical is working. thx again for the help.

Came across your post. Mine is doing the same thing. Were you able to find the culprit? Any advice would me much appreciated.
