Default Help me decide...

I am buying a new car by January. It's probably going to be used. Right now my choices are basically the 06-07 Civic, 06 TC, or RSX. I really want a TC but the only thing holding me back is, when will the new TC model come out? I want to be able to keep this car for at least 2 years without having a brand new body style out. The Civic JUST came out last year so I know that won't be a problem.

Is it too late to get a TC before the next model comes out? I mean according to the following website, the TC will be completely redesigned in 2010...which is a LONG time...

http://autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...024/LATESTNEWS

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, obviously most of us will tell you to get the tC.

However, remember that there is always going to be "the new tC" coming. If you keep waiting, you'll never get a car

That's true, I mean I do expect everyone to tell me to get the TC. But my question is, is it worth it to get it now?

And that's true about "the new TC." But If I were to get it during the beginning of this year, I don't think it would have been that much of a problem.

Well, always think about the numbers too. The tC is the tC. I think it will be "new" in 2008. And I say, "SO?" It will be a distinct body style. Please remember that SCION is a limited make. They have production goals/limits. Honda will sell all the Civics they can. Hey won't all be Si's, but they can be Coupes, or.....just HONDAS......

A real good deal on a 2006 TC would be probably be around 14000, in January. Brand new 2007 TC is MSRP 16,400 and $15,580 invoice. So I could possibly deal them down..

Thing is, I'm going to make the full payment on the car, cash. I mean is it really worth getting the 07 model? What advantages does it have over the 06?

I'm going Manual BTW.

I think these results are going to be a lil biased b/c we all own tcs and lovvvvvvvvvve them, so i think your gonna get lotsa results sayin buy the tc buy the tc! you can't go wrong with a new car, i have always been iffy about buying used cars bc used car dealers are skeeza's, and will literally break out the lights( like the CEL) to make sale... my brother in law(he works at a used dealer) told me that and i decided i would NEVER buy from a used dealership.

Well, as you said, these are going to be biased opinions....

I sat in a Civic before I traded the Bubble. It felt more familiar, but still it is all massively produced. Which makes it rice bait.....(The Bubble was a 2002 Turbo Beetle)

I see nothing wrong with a 2006 used or new tC.....the only advantage to the 2007 tC is if you get the tuner version....

Also there is know way that you will get any money off of a new tC b/c of scions pure pricing "what you see is what you get" sounds like a good thing but it actually sucks b/c you can't get any money off, also if you plan on doing any modding to the 07 good luck and you gotta wait a few months for anything to come out b/c there are no parts for the 07 because the motor is setup a little differently but just that little bit kills everything else for the other car but also the price of the tC will stay up b/c they will limit the production of all scions so resale goes up!!!!

Actually, it keeps the dealer from ripping you off. If it wasn't for pure pricing, I wouldn't be surprised to see tCs going for around $21-22k pretty much base.

You can still get a deal on a new '06, because once the 07's hit the lot, pure pricing no longer applies. For example, my '06 had 8 miles on it when I bought it, but I was able to get about $1,100 off MSRP.

How were you able to get $1,100 off MSRP? You think I could get more off since I'm paying it all off at once in cash?

yea i think with cash you get around it and might get a break on taxes and stuff what you should do is try and have them throw some options on the car and tell them to sell it to you for base price since your paying cash...dealers love that b/c it's easier and they make more
