About a month ago I got new tires and the 18" factory rims for my tC. I had Goodyear installl the rims and the tires on my car. I was on 95 today and when I hit 70mph my car shakes really really bad!!! I have no idea what to do! I'm getting an oil change next week and I'm going to have the dealership look at the car. Hopefully they'll figure out what's wrong with it. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

 

were the rims and tires balanced?

 

your wheels were not balanced right. take it back to wherever u got them from and ask them to re-balance them. they should do it for free. that will take care of this problem for u.

 

Aftermarket wheels without hub centric rings = vibration at higher speeds.

Make sure they are on there.

probably not balanced

 

My sisters TC did this, and she needed a balance and alignment. They balanced them and her car always wanted to go right after so then she needed an alignment. Good luck

 

Hub rings are plastic rings that goes inside of the rim where you bolt on the lug nuts. They are like 15 bucks at America's Tire Co. I got them on my Enkei's.

maybe your dashboard gasket is loose or worn, might wanna get that checked out
