Help somethings wrong with my tC
Hey guys, I've got an 05 tC. I've had a supercharger for a while and wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.
I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't make boost and it get sucked in the supercharger. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises.
Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does Hondas so he doesn't know much about scions.

dude? you ran sand through your engine? seriously? that is what you do for a port and polish? wow...uhm...just wow...i don't think anything except air is supposed to go through your intake...probably made some glass with the ignition of the air and fuel...
dude i dont think you port n polish while parts are on the car.....you just introduced sand to all of you internals and contaminated your oil, you might as well buy a new engine
oh wow...
u probably just killed your motor?
"HEY I GOT AN IDEA, LETS SUCK SOME SAND IN THRU THE AIR INTAKE"
your friend with a honda is a F***ing idiot
they call it an air intake for a reason, not a sand intake..
i have a feeling they are going to laugh at you at the dealership when you tell them what you guys did...
your gonna have to for over some major dough to fix this one...

I say drop everything you're doing and take your baby to Toyota/Scion right away, preferrably by a tow truck to reduce further damage. I feel for you, man. I really hope everything goes well. But be prepared to shell out a lot of skin tho...good luck, bro.

haha thats hilarious!
sabbatoge!!!!!!
could it be possible to make glass in your motor this way??!?
ima open my custom glass shop!
for those of you who dont know, one particular way to make glass is to super heat sand so the grains melt together and become transparent, of course there are alot of steps in the process....but ima go pick up some sand and do this! anyone else want in?
Wow, that really sucks. I have never heard of the sand trick. But maybe it works. I wish you the best, and hope this doesnt end up being too expensive of a repair, cuz I dont think this is covered under warranty. (If you had any left). Good Luck Dude! Let us know what happens......
