Default help with speed

hey guys i have an 08 tc. about 2 months ago i started all my apperance mods, cf hood, new rims, trd lowering spring, tint, vrd grille. im completely happy with the way my car looks but id like it to go a bit faster. im not really looking for a major difference, i really just want to use my whole speedometer (140mph) what are a few mods i can do to achieve this? honestly i dont know alot about this kind of stuff im a aircraft mechanic not a car mechanic haha. wat will a cold air intake do as far as speed and horsepower is concerned?

I think our speed cut is 127? Something like that.

140 is out of reach.

As far as wanting more power.. full exhaust header included, intake, and pulleys will just barely give you an edge over a stock tc. Buy a turbo kit.

Sticky tires are great for getting quick launches.

But as far as trying to be a speed demon.. 127 is already 50mph over the speed you should be going. Relax tyrone shoelace.

Ill start by saying the same thing everyone else does, you dont need to go that fast.

But I'll tell you why its not worth the money or the trouble to enable the car to go that fast also. With the gearing of the car the way it is you cannot get over 124 or 127 or something like that before you hit redline. So you can do one of 2 things:

1: Build the internals so they can handle a much higher redline (around 8k+ RPM) and find somebody to tune it with w/e

2: Find someone to make you a new transmission. Good luck im sure that would cost so much it wouldnt even be worth it.

3?! Drop the car out of an airplane. Would terminal velocity be 140+? i dunno

Without boost our cars will be slow no matter what intake/header/exhaust setup you have. A n/a tc will be slow period. Nothing we can do about it unfortunately. Go boost if you wanna go vroom but even then..is it worth it?

im just sick and tired of seeing thread where ppl think they can throw on I/H/E and magically have 200 HP...it doesnt work that way.

and 140MPH, thats just stupid. theres no way your cars gonna reach 140 in a 1/4.

so that can only leave one thing...public roads.

There are a few tc's that hit the electronic speed cut in the 1/4 from what i've heard.

Get a nitrous kit. It is the cheapest bang for your buck, but the speedo will never go past 127. With my nitrous i get the power when i want it but i take the bottle out when i don't need it.

even 127 is stupid.
an N/A tC wont even break 100 in the 1/4, let alone 127 or 140.

As far as I know, the best way to do this is
A) turbo your car as the power needed to go faster increases exponentially
B) drop in a camry tranny with longer gears
C) get a standalone ECU
D) get some good tires that wont blow out
E) a really long straight road with no cars on it

Now all this is gonna cost like 10-11k new, but you may be able to do all that for like 5-6k if you find deals over time....so have fun

You don't buy a Tc to go fast.
