Default HID Ballast Installation

I searched for what I needed but could not find it. I apologize if this is a re-post. This is my first DIY project and am a little cautions as you can imagine. I have a 2005 tC, and the HID kit from 3B Specialties arrived today. I had 2 questions regarding this:
1. When I tried to screw in the HID bulb it does not "lock" like the original bulb (size 9006). Anyone else have this problem? How did you solve it.
2. Where did you guys attach the ballast? There is not much space under the hood, so was not sure where to put it away from water.

Thanks a bunch. Appreciate your help.

Sometimes you have to trim the edges of the bulbs, where it locks in.

There are plenty of places here is where i put mine,

dqlostsoulz, thanks for the detailed pictures link.

Also, did anyone have problems with fitting the bulb socket? Mine does not seem to "lock in" like the regular bulbs. Any home remedies you tried that helped? Any suggestions?

Thanks again. Appreciate the feedback.

The little hook things on the bulbs, might be too big. I had to trim mine alittle because they were too big.

I know the small grooves you are talking about.. there are 3 of them. Mine is too small.. I compared them to the standard bulbs.. the HIDs do not lock in. So its in but not locked. It moves if I just touch it. I am thinking about taping it but its too sloppy.

I put tape around the outer edge to fill the "gap" and it stays for now but I am nervous while driving. I will try the silicone gel. Thanks for the tip. Appreciate the feedback.

That happened to me 2. Just turn the bulb around until it falls into place. You might want to use some pressure and turn. It will stay make sure you get a tight seal you do not want water to get inside if it rains alot.

Get some needle nose pliers and turn it. Mine didnt wanna turn by hand. But use those and it will turn. Its a very snug fit so they aint going anywhere.

Hi highvoltage1 and capicu23, how would using a nose plier work if the grooves are small to fit the socket? You guys didn't use a silicone gel or other adhesives? Thanks.

my HIDs H11 was the same way from another retailer.

try swapping the rubber gasket from the stock bulb with the Hid bulb,my stock gasket was thicker and it allowed the clips to fit much snugger in the housing.
