High Revs
Hello everyone. Im a long time reader first time poster. Just got my BSP tc on wed and love it. My question is....cruising at about 65 mph the revs are at like 3k rpm in 5th. This is my first 4 cylinder car so I was just wondering if this was normal. My dads Honda CR-V doesnt rev that high and hes got less HP and my boys WRX doesnt come close either, at the same speed. Just wondering if everyone with a MT tC gets the same results. Thanks.
it's got really short gearing. the shiftpoints that the manual *suggests* bring you up from 2k to 3k then shift and it drops back to 2k, right up to 5th gear. 5th is geared so that 65 is at 3k. if you shift by the book, you never get higher than 3k, although having it sit there in 5th is why you get ____ty gas mileage.
so what do i do to get better gas mileage. Because I usually cruise at like 65. But if youre sayin that will give sh*tty gas mileage then should I do. Going slower not really an option lol. I mean im comin off a 97 v6 camry which no joke got around the same gas mileage as the tC. Before I thought the cam suked on gas mileage i was hopin for an improvement. Only good thing is that the tC's tank is smaller so cost to fill up is less. Love the car tho.

A tip: Don't open the throttle at the stoplights... city milage sucks, but going WOT can kill you even more.
