Hit a rolling dead dog at 55!
Last night a car in front of me hit a dog and it came rolling out from underneath the car. At first I thought it was a piece of cardboard or paper. A split second later I realized it was a big brown dog rolling at the speed of light. Traffic was heavy and there was no where to go to avoid hitting the dog. I decided to roll over the middle of it instead of hitting it with a tire. Three loud thumps and the Tc spitted him out. I could not stop because of the traffic. Five minutes later I was home and inspected the damage. The lower front grill popped out but stayed inside the bumper. A rub mark was on the lower middle bumper paint. The dog hit the right, middle resonator hanger bracket and it pulled off. It was covered with dog hair. I slipped it back on. No other damage was done. Pretty tough car but mostely a lot of luck. I cleaned up the car. No paint damage but I can't get the lower grill back in. It is press fitted from what I can tell. Any one know how to get it back in? Also does the lower grill have chrome trim around it like the upper grill does. If so, I'm missing it. By the way, I had four people in the car. Not much ground clearence. I think I'll wait awhile before I lower it anymore.

good thing your car held up. my friend hit a dog in his GTI going 60, the dog went under the driver side and on its way to the back it completely ripped out his intercooler so that it(the intercooler) was dragging on the ground and his radiator had a huge crack. He was driving in the left lane too and it was night time. the dog came out of nowhere.
i feel terribly sorry for the dogs though. never knew what hit him

Just line it up and pull hard. Mine fell into the lower bumper intake space too. Damn tire in the middle of the freeway. There are slots and notches for you to line up the plastic lower grill and it snaps into place after some hard tugs.
I had a close run in with a dog.
Driving at 65 southbound on us 19 between inglis and cryatal river.
Dog just came out no where, and decided to just park his keester right in the middle of the right lane, and sat there like "This is my road _____" . Luckily there was no traffic. I quickly whipped into the left lane and spun out from the left lane into the right lane and off the road facing the oppisite driection. I guess i over corrected juuuuuussst a tad. and yes I have stock potenzas and suspension. I plan on lowering it after tax season.
WHOOOOOO WHAT A RIDE. And I just baaaarrrely missed the dog too, he was a big one. I was raelly lucky not to hit any of those roadside reflector poles near the hospital.

oh man, I know I'm gonna burn in hell for this, but I just don't care...
That was quite possibly the funniest thing I've heard all month. Now I can already sense several people just waiting to call me an A-hole, or several other creative and colorful expletives, but I'm not talking about the dog getting squashed repeatedly, just the visual of a dead dog being catapulted out from under another car.
I know I know, it's still pretty f*cking mean, but I can't help it.

A friend of mine once saw a bull dog / pug type dog jump out of a moving car on the highway....this one went up the hood of the 1st car and launched it airborn like a rocket!
I guess the dog got excited with the car driving so fas tand made a run for it
yea thats the worst when you get some damn hick driver in a truck who puts his dog in the bed with out a kennel. this is really stupid people and if your dog jumps out, you can be liable for animal cruelty believe it or not. keep your pets safe. my uncle owns a vet clinic and whenver he sees the situation where the dog has jumped out the back of a moving vehicle, he jacks up the price on the owner in little fees and meaningless stuff. i feel for the animals in cases like that
