Default Hood install question..

I just put on my new CF hood... and when it is bolted on and lined up just right... it wont lock down...
the latch catches the hook, but it wont engage the lock that you use the hood release for...

any ideas on how i can fix this?

I have already tried to realign the bolts
the size of the hook is identical to the OE hood....
im about to take it off the bolts and see if locks that way...

since it is a lighter hood, you can't just drop the hood in like u used to. You gotta drop it with a little force...the bolts are probably fine

I wouldn't drop it with "force"

A friend of mine had a CF hood on his TC and he just puts it down and pushes on it a little hard above the latch. That does it!

eh...just a little force is not bad...i've had this same issue with all CF hoods on my past cars and would just drop it a tad bit harder than normal and never had a problem

gave both of those a shot... im gonna go out and take the hood off and just place it where it supposed to be without the bolts and see if it locks that way...

thanks for the help.... keep it coming...

Did you try putting the stock hood back on to see if the lock works? B/C my friends lock on his s2000 broke and wouldn't engage either.

what i actually tried was taking a screw driver and used the end to push down the lock... it engaged and stayed locked...

I actually got it to work...

i pushed out the upper grille, b/c i was changing that too.... i closed the hood and realized that the "hook" wasnt pushing the latch down far enough to lock in place
i screwed it off... place some washer "spacers"... put the hook back on and the hood fits like a glove...
