Default How can i get a 2005?

I just called my dealership up in Green Bay, WI, and they told me they ordered a 2005 scion tC. I saw a 2006 on their lot already, and test drove it. Are they still making 2005's? Or how does it work. I heard somewhere that they have like 10,000 of them pre-made sitting somewhere, and then when they get an order.....then they put the accessories in. But since im not getting any additional accesories on my tC, shouldnt i get it faster? My dealership said 6-8 weeks, and i ordered it on Monday! I dont see how it could be that long if im getting a 2005. Any insights? THanks.

You'll probably end up with a 2006.

my experience: i didn't order. i just called and spoke to all of the area dealers and told the sales staff what i wanted (base auto, 6 disc, mats) and asked them to call if one came in. most said good luck but about two weeks later (may 11) i got a call from the elmore scion (westminster, ca) internet sales team and they told me to come in if i wanted the car i was looking for because one just came in. i did and it was an 05 assembled in late april 05. bought it in an hour, in and out the door. it was one of the last 05s assembled.

you will be getting an 06. they could not be ordering an 05 unless they were doing an inter-dealer transfer and the wait would not be that long.

Is there a reason you want an '05?

From reading the specs, it sounds better... I'd love to have the stereo volume increase with the speed of my car, plus the remote stereo control...

The only problem is, they dropped the best color (Indigo.)

I want a 2006. Thats why i was disappointed when they told me 2005. I love the new steering wheel, and volume controls. It also appears that they changed the pedals to silver(which is cool). Not sure about that one though. But, still, does anyone know why the wait is so long? THanks, and thanks to everyone who has replied already.

How do some people get their's within a week, and others(like me), wait 6-8 weeks?

maybe your dealer can trade for an 05 from another dealer...dealership in Syracuse has two 05's sitting on their lot unsold...a Silver and an RS 1.0....

cars are allocated to dealers based upon a number of factors. these include the dealer's history, performance, volume, etc.

Yeah dude, if you want an 06, you better yell at them to get you one... No way would I pay for an 05 now that the 06s are out, unless it was several thousands less.

My 2¢.
