Default How hard was it to get a RS1.0 when it first was released?

There were only 2500 released in the nation. I want to know how hard it was to get one at the time of it's release. Was there anyone desperately looking for one and did/didn't get one?

I am asking this because I like a blue tC and since the next Release Series is going to be Blitz Blue, I'd like to know my chances of getting one.

I know there was quite a few in Nor Cal dealers. There was 2 RS 1.0's when I bought my tC in August.

it took me over a month in san diego. its not that there werent some there, but as many as 5 total RS1s were on the lots of various dealerships but all were already sold. it was frustrating that no one had one that i could buy. finally one dealer said they found me one. no side air bags (which my mom wanted), but otherwise, it fit the bill; manual, no body kit, no pedestal spoiler (though i would have liked a lip). done deal.

i saw one in the showroom at one of the dealers, but it had a SOLD sign on it. it was hard enough to find a regular tC to buy, i cant imagine how hard it would be to find a r.s. with the exact options u want...

What was the release date of the RS 1.0? Would the RS 2.0's release date be around the same time? I'd like to try and wait for the Blitz Blue instead of getting a Nautical Blue at this time. You guys think I can get one here in the Sac/Elk Grove area? We do have John Parks of Elk Grove Scion and Mickael Moriarty of Maita Scion. Good chance?

i think you would have a good chance because if i remember correctly.. LA's region gets the most in CA. and Kearny Mesa gets the most tC's in San Diego.. try calling them up.

At one point we had 3 of them on our lot(RS1)
Shouldnt be too hard to find one, just might be tough buying it before someone else does ;)

When I went to pick up my RS1, my saleslady told me that in the span of one and a half days since I had put a down payment on it, 3 people had asked about buying it. I am so glad I got it though. A normal tC just wouldn't have been the same.

Scion of Grand Rapids in MI had one RS 1.0 about a week before somebody bought it. It wasn't spoken for before it arrived, which surprised me. I looked at it then, but wasn't in the market for a new car.
Maybe you will get lucky!

My dealership got 4 and another one got 2 RS1.0s. Half were automatic and three were stick. I wanted stick and the dealership had one with a ton of extra crap, the car was 25K. The other dealership sold their last one while I was on the way to buy it. So I called the dealership with the 25K Tc and they had just got one in that was stick with nothing on it. I bought it a half an hour later.

best bet is to let your dealer(s) know early that you want one and try and get on a list. so if they do get one then its yours...

not sure if its like that where you are. but here with the recently released RS3 xBs. people got on lists at the dealerships. and when one came in, the first person on the list got first crack at getting it.

The I went to 2 dealerships... The first one had 2 RS1's One Auto and one Manual... And the other dealership, that i bought my car from, had it coming in, so I put my deposit on it right away.

I didn't think much of the RS1 at the time, i just liked the color and the accessories. But at times i still wish i had a SW or BSP, the red grabs to much attention. But I love my baby.
