My 2 best attempts:
A 42" LCD television (in full retail padding/packaging)

22 8-foot 2x4s, 4 8-foot 1x4s, and a couple 8-foot .5x1 strips + my wife.

Got everything and everyone inside with all doors/windows/hatches closed properly on both trips.
Both times, the store clerk that helped my load was in utter shock that a car that small could swallow that much stuff and still close up properly.

I don't have any pics, but I drove cross country from NJ to AZ with my tC full of stuff. Didn't have anywhere near as much stuff as you had, my car wasn't sagging much. Prob wasn't the smartest thing putting THAT much strain on the car, but it was probably the only thing that could be done.

It’s surprising how much you can fit in this car. I took out the passenger seat and the rear seats when I hauled all my junk to my parents place for storage before I moved cross-country. My father said “sure, store a carload of stuff in the garage in front of my truck…” He was slightly peeved when he came home from work one day and couldn’t fit in the garage…

After moving cross-country to Portland, I needed a couch and a bed (neither of which can fit in a tC ), I decided to get a futon. After purchasing one, I went out to pull my car up to the door. The salesman laughed and said “20 bucks says it won’t fit”. Just as soon as I close the hatch, I turn around and see him holding out a $20 bill.

Yea, I had a similar situation. A ladder wouldn't fit into my parents Jeep, so I said it would fit into my tC, so everyone just looked at me like i was on crack. Then when I opened up everything, laid the front seat flat and put down the back seats, everyone just looked at the car and thought "W...T...F..."

I haul large and oddly sized items to work all the time. The tC has consistently surprised me in just how much, and how many oversized items it can carry.

And it's surprised people more than a few times at Home Depot or Lowes when I'm on one of these parts runs. It's not uncommon for me to hear things like: "You can't fit that in a car, you need a truck to carr--oh. Do all the seats fold?"

Just went on vacation, logged 2500 miles with my wife and son. Packed enough for the three of us for a week(sorry no pics). Anyone thats married with children should know about how much stuff that is. Folded down the double rear seat and could still see out the rear window. I was shocked how much the Tc could hold. I could have saved you 18.5 hours. Nothing to see in Philly stay in Florida.
