Default HUGE wait for new tC

So I bought a 2006 tC back in mid June and I am STILL WAITING for it to come in. When I first bought it the dealer said I should have the VIN for it 2 weeks later, and then he should have a good idea when I can expect to actually have the car. I call him every week to check up on things and still NO VIN!
Is anyone else having the same problem? Also does anyone have any suggestions? What is the average time everyone has waited for theirs to come in? It is possible to backout from this dealer and try another one? Anything would help at this point. Thanks!

Where's the 0 wait option?

I got an 05 back in April and took one off the lot the day after I test drove it.

10 and half weeks...... but I did order a AP with airbags, so those are hard to come by. Ordered a '05 model, but picked up a '06 a couple days ago......

Yeah i got mine with airbags as well . . . damn this waiting sucks though, esp since they can't even give me a definitive date. It's more like guessing and hoping.

can your dealer not see whats coming in to their lot from the port ? that's what my dealership was able to do. go into their computer and see which cars are coming to them from the port. and if there's one you like, put your name down on it and when it comes into the lot, they give you a call saying your cars there

I ordered mine last friday and was told about 3 weeks. Hopefully it is less than that or at the very worst, no more than that.

On June 17th a LA Scion dealer ordered 2 AP tC's, one was to be for me (car didn't sell in time). I called over to the dealer on Tuesday July 11th, one had already been delivered, so it only took about 3 weeks. Neither of these had the side air bags... that could be causing your delay. I was sad to find out that now the 2nd one already has the deposit on it too. Will now be waiting a few more months to even order it... My car that was for sale, also sold Tuesday... I figure I will order in October, it will be nice to be without a car payment for a few months.

I hope your car gets to you soon... Oh, are you speaking with the the person who sold you the car? Maybe now would be a good time to contact the General Manager, they may be able to get to the bottom of it for you.

Best of luck!

Bought my '05 tC in the Spring. It took the dealer 3 tries to get me a black one. He lost the first one that was supposed to come to him (went to a different dealer). Who know what happened to the second. Then finally after about two weeks I got mine. While all this was going on, I called a different dealer and he said 6 to 8 weeks.

You might want to call around and see who is willing to go the extra mile and track down a car for you.

BTW, good choice going with the tC. I love mine!

2 1/2 months, I could have got a black one in less time, but I held out for a Flint Mica. Now that I have it I am so glad I waited I love the color.

If the 06 is like the 05, then wait times will vary among region/dealer. When I was looking/buying my dealer ALWAYS had at least 1-2 tCs on the lot. However other people have indicated their dealer NEVER had any and the tC had to be shipped in from another dealer.

I signed a purchase order to buy my tC on June 29th. The salesperson called me a few days ago to say that he expects it in the dealership by 7/22. However, he could not give me a vin so we will see what happens.

I feel sorry for you guys that have to wait. I had to wait about 5 days for my dealer to make a dealer trade from Oregon, and that was long enough!

I can't imagine waiting 3+ weeks. Wow.

Yeah i called every scion dealer in jersey at the time, and NONE had a tC on the lot except for the one that I eventually bought my car from. And the only one they had on the lot was for test drives. I'll try and make a call to the General Manager today and see what happens. Thanks for all the help.

The exact one I designed online was on the lot, called them the next morning when they opened and it was mine.
