i drove it through about 2 or more feet of water and made it out of the water and parked it, later that night i tried to start the car to go home and when it fired up it made a thud so i shut it off and started it back up and it idled out so i thought it was good to go, i got maybe a hundred feet and the it died and when i tried to restart it would fire up and die, i figured it needed to dry so i left it and the next day tried to start and now it wont start up just turns over. it sucked up a good amount of water the air filter was soaked.

LOL figured someone would say that, i was at work and went to break and during the 10 minutes i was at break it decided to rain hard enough to cause flash flood warnings, anyways i drove the same route i do everyday to get to my parking spot didnt think the water was anywhere near as high as it was, thought mayb couple inches or something but once i got in it i knew it was deep so i gave it a little gas and pushed through and it seemed alright. a friend it looked like i was breaking the water with my head lights!

yea but its been on for a little while because of the headers, wasnt for sure how to fix that. tried having the codes reset but it messed with my car so i had to make it throw the code againg so it would run right

Last time I heard a'thud' when I turned over an engine filled with water I blew a two inch hole in cylinder four, snapped the rod so hard you could see it dangling through the hole.
"Steaming " an engine is probably the worst possible thing you could do. The amount of energy steam creates is insane, let alone if that energy is being exerted while your piston is on the way up in the cylinder. You might have ring/ring land issues, you might have put a stress crack in your rod(s).
Along with the sensors your probably fried. I'm not trying to be pessimistic but cross your fingers. Good luck

the thud sound it made was when i fired it up after it had been sitting for about 9 hours after the water incident and like i said after it made the thud it idled out right and i shut it off and turned it back on to see if it would make the sound again and it fired right up and idled out right and sounded OK but it only drove about 100 feet until it shut off but in the 100 feet it didnt make any new noises but after it turned off it would still fire up and die but now its not starting at all just turning over

Next time you're going through a puddle don't give it gas while you're in it because your car will be sucking in more air, therefore more water. So just give it gas before the puddle and try to coast through it. That's what I've done and I have a cold air intake and have been good so far.

If it's running ok at idle, I'd still do the fluid change, and spark plug change. But as someone said earlier, MAF is probably fried. Which is why it's stalling when you start to put a load on it. (driving)

Hi I dont know if this is helpful but the last time I hydrolocked a cyl. the motor wouldn't even crank, the starter didnt have the power to get past it. Fluids (fuel or water) are just to dense, i think that if you got enough water in it while it was running it would have lifted the head or broken a rod, for what its worth I would do as FMTC suggested and pull the plugs and code it,also some wd on the connecters.
