Use the Ultimate Quick Detailer if you want a really smooth and clean car. I always use it for touch ups in between washes and after applying NXT tech wax or #26. It makes a huge difference!

seriously,
if you think nxt wax is good, than try turtle wax platinum ultra gloss.
its soo much glossier and cleaner than nxt imo.

I'm not saying Meg's Gold Class is the best. All I am saying is that for the $$$, Gold Class can't be beat. I haven't waxed my car since April and all I use is the Gold Class detailer (after a wash) and it produces a shine like in the pix! For my money, that's good enough for me.

I'm sure there are a ton of better products out there. But I'm old and don't have the time to apply multiple coats of wax (Zymol) and all that 'step #1,2,3, etc' stuff. I want to wash it, dry it, detail it, and be done with it. Can I help it that I'm sort of lazy?

Zaino is good, but hardly the best among sealants. There are other products which can give Zaino a run for their money. Besides, I think most people here are referring to waxes and not sealants, although NXT is indeed a spray sealant.

Or a paste sealant!

I haven't used the Zaino system myself but it does seem to look good, especially more recent formulations. What I don't like about it is the convoluted system that requires Z8 sandwiched between coats of Z5 with their ZFX additive (sold separately.) And then of course, you gotta top all of that with CS. But as far as I can tell, Zaino is probably one of the best sealants out there. I'd go with Ultima Paint Guard Plus before Zaino though.

Gold Class is pretty good as far as Meg's consumer line goes. The look is classic Meguiar's... deep, dark, warm glow. But seriously, for almost the same price you can get #26 from their professional line. Pretty much the same look as far as I can tell (mayhap a bit better) but better protection and longevity.

And if you think 49 bucks for a Zymol wax is expensive... Three words:
Vintage
Royale
And finally...
Solaris

Yeah Meguiars is pretty good for the money you spend on it-- I find that Meguiar's clay bar, some wax (I don't know why but I prefer the paste wax) and some quick detailer (under $30 right there) leave a shine and smooth finish. But my arm hurts like a mo fo after

Well, I definitely think that spending a day applying 3-5 coats of sealants, waxes, etc is a complete waste of time for most of us. If you are heavilly competing in car shows or detail for a living (or hobby... but kind of a strange hobby ) then you may see some benefit in expensive, time consuming products. However, I can rarely see the differnce in Meguiars NXT and 5 coats of various expensive products unless someone points it out directly. I wax about 4-5 times a year with NXT, claying once a year and keeping it washed and quick detailed the rest of the time.

Nope. TRD drop. (1.25" all around.) It's my DD, so I have to take it easy.

Very clean..I also only use Meguiar's products (especially their clay bar system) and haven't been disappointed yet.

One question though

I only wax once every 3-5 months for fear of eventually dulling the shine but is it safe to use the quick detailer spray after every wash?

Yes you can use the spray after washes.

For white, there's not going to be anything that'll make a world of difference. Any of their products will be good. If you're looking for a Meg's Mirror Glaze product, I'd go with #21 simply because it's a sealant. Generally these polymer concoctions will give your car a bright shine which isn't always what people want from dark colored cars.

Repeated waxing won't necessarily dull your clear coat; however, using a wax with heavy cleaners could possibly harm your clear over the years. Honestly, I think that's a thing of the past by now. I doubt Meg's would put a product out that'll harm your finish after time.
