I believe it stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. I'm changing the LEDs underneath that cluster (to blue), as well as the speedometer gauges (to blue and white) and the center console (blue) If that's not what it stands for then, hell with it, that's still the stuff I'm gonna change. This NOOB is gonna get it down one way or another.

I knew what HVAC meant....I was just confused as to how you were going to convert your AC, and to what.

I think I am used to seeing it referred to as a "center console" conversion.

But I know what you mean now.

Its all good.

Default future Tc buyer.

hey guys, i'm new here. i was looking to trade up my 2002 civic Ex for a 2006 scion Tc (white) (manual) and i was wondering how was the buying experience for you guys and what should i expect as far as the TOTAL balance walk out the door price and how much i'd be paying a month. i know that monthly payment thing is an unknown thing cause it's based on credit but i was wanting to know how you guys PERSONALY have had your buying experience. what are your stats on the financing part for yourselfs?

are any of you guys paying more than 300 dollars a month?

how much did you guys walk out the door in the whole total price of the car? (this would INCLUDE tax, tag, title.)....?

i'm hoping i'll get a great deal and an awsome chance and shot at this to be very first NEW car.

i'm 24 years old. i'ma male. my credit score is 654. and my credit history although isn't long. but it's great and says great stuff on it. THANKS!.

It took under an hour. I walked in, gave my printout from scion.com and that was it. They re-wrote the prices and options from the printout onto their form, took a deposit off my card and added the tax. The price was the same as on the internet, the only difference was tax and DMV registration crap, all togeter a bit under 2000.

Easy as can be, there is no price negotiation, its called pure pricing. You can negotiate a bit since you can try to get as much as you can for your trade-in.

Good luck

Hey guys, just wanted to say hi. I've been lurking around here for a while, and after not finding anything that I wanted to purchase used I settled on a 2006 Classic Silver tC (5spd).

I picked it up on 4/26/06 (they had to get it rerouted to the dealership), and loving it so far. They DID scratch my driver's side door handle running it through the wash, so they're ordering another one to replace it (and hopefully they won't mess up the door panel replacing it). So other than that and someone scratching the silver part of the console with the key (which I don't expect them to fix, but I will bring it up when I go in for the door handle replacement) I'm happy with my purchase.

No really major plans for it yet, I'll probably do some relatively minor things down the road, springs and dampers, swaybar(s), etc.

Looking forward to being part of the "group" here at ScionLife.

Scion has a first time buyer program, i.e, if you have No negative credit history and graduated from an accredited college within the last two years, you qualify for their zone 1 financing (6.7%) and get a $400 rebate (it goes towards your down payment).

That said, the base for manual $16,840 plus about $2000 in options, tax and title, and tinted windows and a several thousand dollar down payment left me with $300/ mo for 66 months. I wanted to get the car for under $20,000, and for less than $300 a month. Problem is, these cars are so hot, and there are so many accessories, that you can keep adding things until it's in the low 20s. So good luck. Find a dealer who you will enjoy working with. It's pretty much a build your car online, take it to dealer, he orders it for that price, you pay him, you get car sort of system. I found it a lot easier than worrying whether the Ford dealer was squeaking that extra profit out of me, and whether I would be regretting the Ford focus for the next decade of my life. I went to the Scion website, and it was pretty much over after that. Hope this helps

so there's no way to talk down on the price? i plan on putting 2000 dollars down when i am ready. i'm just hoping they'll give me good for my car i have now. i just want them to take it COMPLETELY off of my hands and put me into a Tc for a FANTASTIC deal!. i'm looking to pay no more than 300 dollars a month. and i'm hoping that after tax, tag, and title stuff. that i'm not going to end up paying 20,000 dollars!!!. i'm looking to get the Tc for invoice price. does it matter if my credit score is 654? and that my credit history is pretty dang good?.

i don't wanna end up with a balance of 20,000 dollars and a monthly payment over 300 dollars a month. cause i've got so many other brands of cars lined up too. like NISSAN, MAZDA, HONDA, & HYUNDAI. what do you guys think?

what do most of you guys pay a month and how much did the car come up to in TOTAL AMOUNT BALANCE?

No, depending on what you buy and whether or not you add dealer installed accessories, you're going to pay the posted price. However, that doesn't mean you can't haggle over your finance rate and the value of your trade-in. You should also try to get financing outside of Toyota to see if you can get the payments you want.

FWIW I shopped for two years before purchasing a tC and IMO you're not going to find a better deal in terms of price, performance, and features.

I didn't buy a car the short time I lived in Florida so I don't know what tax, title, and license would be, but I would guess you're looking at around $18k out the door on a $16,840 car.

I think folks here will tell you it's the worst car they've ever driven.

Seriously, it's more car than I expected for the price, and its performance and features put it slightly above a RSX priced about $3000 more. I've had mine for a few weeks and it actually makes rush hour in L.A. tolerable, I can't think of a higher compliment than that.

thats cool. they DO seem to be awsome cars though. i wonder if there's some kinda "HIDDEN" thing that toyota isn't telling it's buyers about the scion tc. or is this car just the AWSOME car that it is for the UNBEATABLE price that it has.

i'm also wondering if there are any kinda problems with the car that you've noticed after you bought it. i know you've only had yours for a little while but i would like to know if they have those rattling problems like others have had or if there are any type of things breaking or if there are some recall parts. i dunno. just asking.

The only hidden thing Toyota doesn't tell you is that some women think it's a Lexus... don't say anything, just go with it.

I did have a defective wheel speed sensor, which I seem to be the only person on SL with that problem. The dealer replaced it and everything seems perfect; no rattles or squeaks.

ok sweet!. i guess that car is just meant to be eh? i have a 2002 honda civic Ex right now. i still owe 9,500 on it. but by the time i go to the toyota dealership to trade up. i should be at like 8-(?) somthing. i don't know. but i wanna go do this some time in August or September. I'm looking for them to give me good on my civic. it's pretty much all stock and it's in GREAT condition. especially when i wax and clean the heck out of it for them. just before i go trade and buy. i should have that car looking really nice. do scion tc's come with a keyless entry remote fob and a panic button? i know my civic Ex does. i can unlock and lock and push the panic button. eventhough the panic button is pointless. i'm asking cause some websites make it seem that it's an extra option you can get for your purchase of a tc. i know tc's all come with power everything and the moonroof and 17 inch alloy wheels. but i was wondering about that keyless entry deal. don't know about that. do they come with that keyless entry remote fob? i'm going to get as plain as i can so it'll be as cheap as it can be. i'm planning on throwing down 2000 dollars too!. and on the PLUS side of this all. i work at a harley davidson dealership and the salesmen and salesmanager at harley know the salesmanager at toyota there where i'm going to make the deal at. so hopefully my salesmanager at harley can give good word for me to toyota. the salesmanager at toyota bought a harley from us a while back and we gave him a KILLER deal on the bike so i guess the salesmen will use that fact to help me. IT'S PAY BACK TIME!!!. so i'm feeling really good about getting into a SCION TC.

The tC does have keyless entry standard and it's intergrated on the key itself.

You should check the Kelley Blue Book on your Civic. Owing $9,500 on a '02 means you may owe a little more than the car is worth.
