So by freedom we can say freedom of will/speech/religion and such...I can see that

Like someone said I admire and support you guys but I don't support any war, whether on terrorism or what the Roman Empire did, whether for territory or anything else.

Botttom line yeah the woman should have minded her own business.

I am lucky enough to call a man that spent 3 years fighting for our freedom mine. Every night when I lay down next to him I can't imagine the harships he has had to face and the sacrifices he has made because of a job he chose to do. If some lady had the nerve to do that to Erik with me in the car I would be the first one out of the car to give her a peice of my mind, my boyfriend has been shot, stabbed, blown up and all other matter of tossed around thanks to this war if I support or not does not matter, I support him because he did the job he was told to do.

the military defends your freedom by keeping other countries from taking this one and making you live the way they want you to. what do you think would happen if our military was weak or did not exist? would those other countries just leave us alone? i guess that phrase of us defending your freedom doesn't mean as much if you have never been to a country that has none.

Blame the politicians, not the soldier/sailor/marine/airmen

If you don't like the war, move to a red state, change it to a blue state, and get someone else elected to Congreess or the Senate who'll vote the other way.

Yelling at military personnel for POLICY decisions makes no freaking sense! They go where they're sent. The American public are the ones who elected the people who sent the military to the big giant sandbox.

I think the whole "defending freedom" line is thrown about a bit too loosely by the politicians. It seems more like; "we want you crazy suicide bombers to NOT kill us because you don't like us". Maybe you could look at it as "free to be me and not you".

I totally agree and as an OIF veteran, I just feel that I would rather fight a them on their turf, then have to fight them trying to come to ours, but to all my brothers and sisters in arms who've been there and done that, I totally feel you on people forgetting we're only doing what we're told, and the only thing I can say remember is when you came home on RnR into that airport, and the feeling you got, remember that...

Actually I was born in Kuwait, grew up there, lived in saudi arabia, egypt, italy, austria and couple other places. So I know what freedom entails. I just don't think 9/11 took freedom away from americans. And I'm talking about 9/11 only because that's the only threath made on this soil. It's not like we got foreign armies waiting in the ocean next to us. If we would have hidden in our house, not trust anyone, not work then yes. But the country continued working. The positive/quick way americans healed after that blow means they didn't let any one threathen their freedom.

Again I do not support what is being done but I would never disrespect someone's personal choices.

soooo if we did nothing militarily after 9/11 do you think 9/11 would have been all that happened? they would have just left it at that? or maybe they would have done it again and again because america wasn't going to do anything about it? and eventually say why don't we just take it,they don't do anything when we attack them anyways. yes i'm sure they would have just left us alone if we didn't have such a great military..

I think neither you nor I can give an answer to that.
If we start doing the "what if" game then all sorts of outcomes could have happened. So what's the point?

I gave my point of view and that's that nothing will change it. I don't support any war.

"we should abolish the intelligence agencies and our armed forces and give free money to all the other countries of the world."

I love it when the hippie anarchist vegan protesters in SF say stuff like that.
