Yeah, that is definitely right... Sometimes, if it's the first time for you to take out the license plate bulb, you have to twist really hard! Maybe try some needle nose pliers, they should provide the extra leverage you need.

 

bingo, its right....but i warn to thats those are a PITA to twist.

 

ahha how could you miss it? it clearly says it on the top in bold letters..

Get some smaller sized channel locks, and toss a rag around the teeth so they don't scratch up the bulb holders and twist.

That is what I had to do. I was trying every angel and such and saying things under my breath and finally got fed up and got the channel locks out. Pliers would work too.
