Ok guys I have a 2005 Scion tc, This is kind of a long story so I will keep it brief. The only key I have was lost, the dealership wanted $800 to program 2 keys for me. I am not doing that.... so here I am, I ordered a new lock cylinder and key off ebay for $50 Bucks think that would fix it. it did not. Still wont start................I need help please.........any information is appreciated..

 

Maybe the key needs to be programmed still. I had a key made at ACE at one point and they forgot to program it.. I went to start the car right after I had it made and it wouldn't start. I walked back inside the lady looked up the code for are tc's and programmed the key and BAM it worked. Im pretty sure the code is the same for all tc's depending on the year of course.

 

wait ACE hardware programs car keys? i thought only toyota did that?

 

Well they programmed the key that I bought from them. Idk if they can program all keys. It's worth a shot to ask them and see. Like I said I'm not a 100% sure.

 

even walmart can program keys, just their keys not ones brought to them. That way they can warranty the key and the programming.

 

I purchased a key from Walmart for my 06tc and they programmed and cut the key for 40$, has worked for me almost a year.
