both the interior for the evo and sti are scarificed because of the exterior and engine. IMO if you dont have any other things to pay to for and have the extra money, id for sure get an evo or maybe the sti. but its really up to you.

if your getting some "good money," why not go get something like the new M3? more expensive than the sti/evo, but far better interior ammenities and nothing screams class and luxury like a nice benz, audi, or bimmer.

I do like the evo/sti but yes the interior is sacrificed. If I had 30-40 k in cash I would probably go for something powerful, but luxurious. I don't know what you like but Lexus. Infiniti, bmw would have some offerings. Just remember though that your insurance is gonna be huge MAYBE so think of that too.

that would be sick. 333 hp, mmmmm haha and luxury.

I'd prolyl get an STI jus cuz im not really much of a luxury guy and would like to save the extra money and i like the practicality of a four door.

Maybe I'm just not "fun" enough or starting to go on to the next phase of my life, but...if I was getting a good sum of money, I'd use it as a down payment on a house. Invest!

Unless you are good as a mechanic...don't get the EVO because Mitsus are crap! That's how i learned to work on cars though because the thing fell apart from the inside out. Just my personal opinion and experience but you can spend that same amount on the TC and make it pretty sick!

i'd personally rather have an evo over the sti, but consumer report actually recommends the sti and i think pretty highly of consumer report's reviews. but new evos just look so much better than the new sti in my oipinion.

it's up to you really. i'm not sure how much is a good sum of money, but if it's me i'd either keep the tC and save the rest or trade in the tC and get the si and save the rest. just because you'll be getting a lot of money doesn't mean the best choice is to waste it all on something that will depreciate and loose value rapidly.

i'd guess i'm boring myself since you can get something a lot faster and expensive, but i'd settle with the si b/c of honda's reliablilty and it's excellent performance for the money. and the tC or si should have little problems in the future.

i forecast some heavy maintanence and repairs for the evo/sti/m3 that will lead to some big money down the road.

REAL ESTATE. Start good now, and in 5 years you can buy as many of whatever you want. Cars go down in value, land goes up in value. It's a no brainer.

Well from a quality standpoint I would NEVER buy an Evo. Mitsubishi is closing dealers all over the place for lack of sales and service problems. 3 of my friends have Evo's, two of them have had to replace the engines and the 3rd replaced the tranny. None of that was covered under the warranty because they claimed the were driven abusively. Mind you the car is marketed as a streetable race car?!??!? The STi is a much better quality car, but its kinda ugly!! If i were you I would get a good Turbo or SC for the tC and maybe look into a 6-speed tranny. Improve the suspension and tire and wheels and then enjoy the rest of the money....maybe buy a motorcycle or something additional.

Since the funds are available and you want speed, make the tC faster. You just paid for the most expensive part of the car, might as well enjoy it.

Significant amounts of money are relative to the individual. However, if you perceive your settlement / the trucker's punitive damages to be somewhat of a windfall, I suggest you solicit "help" from a financial planner.

Take 5% - 7% of what you got and have a good time. Invest the rest to keep the good times rollin'.

Not everyone gets the opportunity to have their "dream car", so if that's what you really want, I'd say go for it.

I agree, if you are getting the money, and you have no other debts i would just go for your dream car. You dont want to keep what you have knowing you could of have your dream car and paid cash for it.

It all comes down to what you want, not what everyone else says, becuase in the end..it's what makes you happy.

If it was me and i was getting a "Good" amount of money, i would pay my tC off, and use the rest of the money towards my dream car, even if i had to make payments on my dream car it wouldnt be for that much, so you can have a luxury car..and a daily driver car.

I agree wholeheartedly... except the dude is from New York! I'm sure the opportunity to invest in property is few and far between... or ridiculousy expensive! lol.

Dude, if you love the Evo, then sell the tC and buy the Evo. It's really that simple. If the Evo is your dream car, and you have no other better way to spend your money, then go for it.

The thing I've learned is that practical advice will not deter someone from buying something they are 'in love' with. A year ago, you could tell me all day long about the poor mechanical quality of Mustangs... I would still have bought a Mustang GT if I had the money. I was even looking at used 03 and 04 Mustangs before deciding on a brand new tC. (but that was then... so many Stangs are everywhere now it actually makes me cringe and my opinion is different now... ). But I know that telling you the Evo interior is flimsy is not going to change your mind about Evos.
