Default Im getting shafted with my order... what would you do?

You know this was supposed to be a easy car buying experience, order what I want and wait for it. The problem comes in with the waiting, I KNOW they are lying to me. I ordered mine June 16th, when I ordered it he said maybe the middle of July before I would get it and I was their first order. I also told him I would be ok with 3 colors, BCP, Indigo, or Flint, but Ill order the flint. He says he will call me if any other color 5spds will be on their allotment and give me a pick if he can't get the flint on the first one. I called a week ago and he tells me it would most likely be on their fist allotment since Im their first 5spd order. he continues to say it should be on their first allotment but now that wont be till the end of August!

This is where I KNOW he's lying to me, 2 days ago I decided to go into the dealership to show my friend the car, so we go in, they have a different demo then last time. This time it's a 5spd so I asked to test drive it, so one of the salesman ask for my ID rudely and just storms off, he has just found out that I already ordered one and want's nothing to do with me. While he's off Im talking to the other salesman, I said do you know when your first allotment is he said yes were about to get it in, I asked what colors and if their auto or manual... he said their all sold, their first couple orders are being filled, I asked if any are 5spds and he says yes. So I asked about my order, and told him what color and 5spd. He goes inside and comes back and goes "ya we got um what's your name" so I say my name, and it goes from ya we got... to No im sorry I dont see your order, Ill let the sales manager know you stopped by. So now I'm ____ed, but I go and test drive the 5spd white one they have since I only got to test drive the auto last time. The salesman just tosses me the keys and says be back in 5 min. Ok fine, so me and my friend take it out for a few minutes we come back and I hand the keys to the salesman I was talking to, and tells me hold on hell grab the other salesman, since I had a question or 2. He walks off around the corner and talks to the other salesman and we can hear them, and the other salesman says "It's not my customer, what do I care" and so the guy I was talking to comes back and answers one question do we leave. I am so beyond ____es right now.

So now I go and call other dealerships around to see if anyone has a BCP, Flint, or Indigo 5spd coming in within a few weeks that arent called for. Noone does, but I could order it and it would be 4-6 weeks, mind you my 1 month old would come in at the same time. So WHY THE HELL did I order it early if I could get one at the same time if I ordered it a month ago or I order one now. I told a few of thoose dealerships whats happening and they all said the same thing.... their first orders are being filled now, I should have had mine at the latest end of July, and they could get me one if I ordered now from them around the same time my dealership is telling me. I have a big feeling they bumped my order down a couple times for people who ordered more options.

with a despoit of that size, I'm sure the sales consultant helping you, neglected to tell you, you're most likely at the end of the line. Our minimum deposit is 500 dollars, and we usally push for 1000.

wow, thats just bad service. I stopped by the dealer close to my work and they were great. Even after I told the guy I wouldnt be guying until next spring at the earliest he answered all my questions, called me 2 days later saying they had one I could see. Turned out he wasnt even a scion sales guy, he sold toyotas, he just knew alot about tC.

Dulanic I think I know that dealer you're talking about. I saw that one scion last Thursday and asked a couple of things about their orders. Guess what the guy told me the same thing he told you around August or so he said he's honest and won't lie to me about it. He even mentioned one customer cancelled his order and offered that spot at the same time but i won't have the car til august so doesn't make sense.

try either elmhurst scion, oakbrook and grossinger. those are closer in chicago.

gud luck

Amount of deposit should not factor into this at all. The dealer should have a set standard deposit amount and then treat all customers fairly, namely first come first served. PERIOD.

They probabably have deposits alot bigger then 250 and feel that they rather loose some one with a small deposit then people with higher ones sounds shady to me. go down there everyother day or when you have time and rasie hell. They'll be sure to start treating you with alot more respect.

i know how you feel.... I also put in deposit for mine and was told I would be the first on their allocation, guess what.. come and gone they sold 5 tcs.. none were mine.... I'm thinking that they are filling customer orders with extra options first instead of my bonestock tc...

btw.. i'm calling to get my deposit back, f' them.. going with antoher dealer who is giving me an exact date of when my tc will be in.

the size of the deposit shouldn't matter.. since they only asked me to deposit 200... I would've deposited 1000, 2000 if they asked me to..

I had my buddy here in town run a locator of ALL manual tCs in the Chicago Region.
There are ONLY a total 11 Cars for 4and 1/2 states.

1 Flint Mica that is still on the water in the Pacific going to Eau Claire,WI
2 Black both showing as at the dealer. One in Peoria,Il and the other in the burbs of Minneapolis.
1 BCP coming Jon Lancaster in Madison it showed arrive to Chicago's rail yard around the 18th. They should have it shorlty after that( 1 week ).
1 Azure Blue again to burbs of Minneapolis
1 Indigo the should arrive at the dealer here in Urbana,Il around 7/9 to 7/14
1 Silver at Elmurst,Il on the ground and 1 silver arriving into Portland today on its way to West Bend,IN
and Park Ridge,IL has a Black just arriving in port.
The last 2 side airbag equipped models.
1 silver going to Eau Claire still on the Pacific.
1 black on the ground in Milwaukee

MY OPINION
1) Stop complaining there are hardly any in the supply pipeline so no one has their car yet.
2) If you feel lied to then grab the phone and call the above dealers to be what they have coming in.
Have a great weekend and relax.
