way too many people have tC's to be waving or "tooting" to them. it's not like we're in some special club or have nearly anything in common. tC's are like the new civic. everyones got one.

Listen Mr. Sourpuss, everyone doesn't own a tC. If they were as common as you claim why do I constantly get asked what kind of car it is? And who cares how many people own one, because the reality is everyone won't own one. There are millions of people who will like and continue to buy lame cars like chevys, fords, and hyundais. Lastly, we tC owners do have things in common silly. For example, we drive the same car! And, we are people who clearly have great taste

I mean how often does a great car like this come along? A car with hot style, a plethora of standard features, good gas mileage/acceleration combo, and an awesome price? So, I will not let killjoys like you [there's one in every crowd] deter me from a friendly toot and wave to other cool tC drivers.

I come from the Jeep Wrangler world where it's pretty much mandatory to do the "Jeep Wave" when passing a fellow Jeeper. Sometimes its a half salute, sometimes a nod, but most always a gaint wave. Kinda like a Harley thing.

I tried the same with some of my Scion brethren regardless of XA, XB, or TC, but since it seems like most are younger than me they probably think it would sullen thier rep to be waving to a crazy guy in a TC.

We need a SCION WAVE! :D

Anyway, I wave at fellow Scion owners that I see driving down the road. I see Scion ownership as a community of people with the same great taste in cars.

*waves to everyone*

well maybe thats bc you live in UPSTATE new york. i live in so cal and out here its the trendy thing to do to buy a scion. Of course i'm sure in upstate new york people drive less trendy cars but give it some more time and they'll all have 'em too. Of course we drive the same car, whoopty-freakin-doo. Is that supposed to make us buddies or somethin? Do you see other people doing that with cars that are much better than tc's like BMW's, mercedes, etc? No. But don't get me wrong, tc is the best car for the buck and i LOVE it. I jus don't think i have much in common with the average so cal tc driver on the road.

Maybe we should institute a "Fight Club"-type head nod as the 'Official tC Acknowledgment Gesture'...

1. Turn head (either left or right). Take a full 2 seconds to do this. Nice and slow.
2. Have a stern look on your face when looking at fellow tC driver. (Eyes kind of squinty.)
3. Nod your head. Take a full second or 2 to do this. Again, nice and slow.
4. Turn head back to normal position. Take 2 seconds again. Its all in the delivery!
5. Drive off!

Rule#1 We do not talk about tC Fight Club.
Rule#2 Refer to Rule#1.

just do the "wassup" head nod, where you move your head up in a fast movement like you in a east compton thug gang.

I usually open my eyes as wide as possible in astonishment and try to act like I thought I was the only one on the road with the xA. They usually flip me the finger before they speed away. I like it when they do that.

I haven't noticed enough of a tC culture around here (or hell, enough tC's for there to be a culture), so there's no tC wave around here. But when I'm driving my Jeep Wrangler I wave to other Wrangler drivers, and when I'm riding my motorcycle I wave at other motorcyclists. Of course, the Harley dudes are all too cool and don't wave back. *******.
