Default Injen Installed

However it was a pain in the butt to put it in. After spending hours on taking off the front bumper and the driver side wheel I was able to pull it off. Unfortunately the lower pipe was scratched a bit, but what can you do...

For me though, I have three issues:

1) It vibrates so much because its metal on metal. I put something in between it for now, but its not going to last forever (even with the Doc's mount in place).

2) I had to bend the upper vibra mount cause it wouldn't fit properly if I didn't do it. Seemed like the upper pipe was out of wack.

3) The Evap didn't want to fit on the mount, so I had to dremel out the mount out a bit more and it finally fit. I sent to email to injen, but nothing so far (I verified it was for a 07/08 ).

Did anyone else exp these issues? Please let me know.

Hey Bro. I have the same setup as you, but with a '08.

I found that the lower pipe needed to fed into the engine bay through the existing hole (now where the Doc. I CAI sleeve sits).

I bent part of the engine bay wall SLIGHTLY to fit it in, but no more than 2-3 cm's.

Ive had the CAI on for about 4-5 months now, and no problems since I installed the Doc I. CAI sleeve. No rattling and the pipe never moves. Though I didnt need to remove the bumper to work it in... lol... Just the driver side wheel and the wheel well lining.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, however since everything is together, its going to be a PIA to do that, esp with the CAI sleeve in place ....

Eh, I wouldn't worry about the lower pipe being scratched; nobody's going to see it unless you take the bumper off.

As far as the metal on metal hitting, you get a rubber thingie to put on the metal where it's hitting, and I would put that on (or find something like it, you can probably use a rubber windshield seal) before you get a hole in your intake.

It sounds like you got the 2005-2007 intake for your 2008 car, which does make a difference. The air intake (specifically the MAF) is one of the few differences between those model years, and it would explain why things aren't fitting.

I installed the injen cai on my 07, had a similar time getting that damn pipe down there but eventually got it. I just lined the metal opening with some rubber crap and packing tape to keep it from vibrating against it too bad. I had no issues with the Evap though, not sure what that's all about. Going on 14 months with no problems

I would love to, but its going to be a pain since I would need to take off the whole intake again, no?

Correct me if I am wrong, but its 2005-2006, then 2007 and 2008. So therefore I _should_ have the right one, no?

I hate to break it to you... but you are.

Oh, I think I see where you might have gotten this mixed up. If you got this from killertc.com, they have their years wrong in the item and invoice titles, but not in the descriptions. It should be 05-07 (there was no 2004 tC), and then 08. They used to have it as just one item where you could select what year range you need; I don't know why they changed that.

I got mine at hopupracing and according to the box that I received from them (official injen box), it did say 07-08.

D'oh, you're right. I'm an idiot who should pay attention to what he's saying while he's half-asleep at work. Not entirely sure why I said 08 was seperate, I have the 07-08 kit.

I had such a b trying to get the CAI pipe put on that I just left it as a short-ram (which sounds more impressive and caters to my paranoia about hydrolocking in the midwest).

Good on you for getting it on, and any of the suggestions in this thread would work; putting a bunch of packing tape/electrical tape/duct tape around the metal where it's hitting or finding that rubber piece that's supposed to fit around the metal piece on the car that it's hitting will work. I'd do something, again, before the vibrations punch a hole in your intake.

For now I took the rubber molding that was included and shoved it in via a shimmied opening and left the rest dangling. So far, its doing pretty well. Everyone once in a while you hear a noise, but its not as bad as before. Need to figure out a more permanent solution though...

Cut off any bit that isn't going to protect your nice black exhaust (you did get the black, right?), and put duct tape over the ends.

No I got polished (for fear if I did scratch it up, it wouldn't show as much), but do you mean intake? Also, what ends are you referring to?

I know what I'm talking about (sort of), I swear. Today is one of those days.

Taping the ends of the rubber molding so that it stays in place, since a vibration issue is probably going to make it slip right off.

I Just installed my Injen intake but I cant get the bottom half of it in.. it seems like the hole is too small? I tried to feed it into the engine bay though the fender area.. and visa versa and no luck. I just ended up with a scratched up cold air portion.. as for now I left it was a short ram. How did you guys fix this problem?

Oh yeah, it is 07-08 intake :p

To be honest, I have no idea how I got mine in. All I know is that it was late at night and I stared at the sky with my car all apart and I said - "God please help!!" and "Why me?!?!". Then after screwing with it some more, it just dropped right in around 20 minutes later...

However, I did go from the top to the bottom, and did a semi twist, and it dropped in. I was so happy I didn't care how exactly....

I know I am not much help....sorry. Also, did your EVAP go right in? I had issues with it not fitting and I had to dremel it out some.
