Default Install tips for TRD exhaust?

Just bought a slightly used TRD sport muffler on eBay ... does anyone have install tips or war stories? It seems pretty straightforward but I've heard it takes a bit of work to get everything lined up correctly.

Also, any tips on removing and reinstalling the lower rear bumper?

Thanks!

use wd40 to remove the mufflers and hangers. once you place the new muffler on the hanagers, see which side it leads towards, then push it the other way (hold it all the time) and tighten the clamp. remember, don't release it until the clamp is tighten, otherwise it'll still be off centered.

You don't have to weld those on?

The TRD muffler is a complete bolt on, but remember to tighten the 12mm on the clamp. They are known for lossening after being opened.

Hardest part (for me) was getting the old muffler out. Until I eventually learned that once you have the pins (on the old muffler) lubricated (WD40, silicon, whatever), you only need to get a little portion of the edge of the rubber over the nub on the end of the muffler's hanger, then pull constantly for awhile: the rest of the rubber will eventually follow what you started and climb fully over the edge. You do NOT need to pry up the rubber all around the hanger.

YMMV, though.

Least expensive I could find was from a dealer in Texas, $255 plus shipping.

http://www.toyotaterritory.com/

You may be able to find this part for less out there after an exhaustive search.

That's about the lowest I've seen. I'm sure cabeperformance, com or newscionparts.com will pricematch them, too.

Default TRD EXHAUST INSTALL

As posted above i just got this and it is literally a 15 minute install. and thats spending etime trying to find a cold beer in the 'fridge.. just do yourself a favor & put a lil wd-40 when removing/installing the hangers. other than that.. its as easy as it gets. no welding. no leaks. no problems
