I personally think that the tC is way better than the xA or xB, but they're all nice cars. Now, I wouldn't personally drive either of them (due to the weak HP, wish they were at about 130, but to each one his/her own. I bought the car cause it's one of those "nice all round hatchbacks/coupes" or whatever, but the xA did appeal to me at first, but then I read it's only got 108HP, so it wasn't for me. I don't need the stock 305 of a TA, but need a little something when I'm in the mood for it (160HP!!! Meaning, I don't like bashing, but it's all fun over the internet when everyone "reps" their car, lol!

 

I think the TC is one of the coolest new cars out right now, and its far from ugly. It takes a lot of styling cues from really popular cars. You'd be suprised how many people mistake my little brothers tc for a new bmw 5 series when I first show them the pics, because the headlights are so similiar. Don't listen to the haters. If I had to choose a scion, it would be a tough decision between the xb and the tc. Personally, I really dig the xb's body style, but the tc has the nicer engine. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

 

But those nicer cars....don't look like they have been thrown together...which the TC does....the XA and XB are soooo much nicer...but some people bought the civic tooo...so to each his own

 

Just because it WAS designed by a Lexus designer, does not make it a poor mans Lexus. I am a tC owner, but i'm not defensive of the car or anything, I like it alot, but their are quite a few other cars i'd rather have (but i can't get RWD drive cars because i'll kill myself in the winter). I just don't see any decent reasoning to call the tC a poor mans Lexus. (PS. I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, everyone has their own taste in cars, I just don't see the comparison here)

 

I'm not sure what you mean by thrown together? From what I've seen of my little brothers car, it looks to be very well put together, the overall fit and finish is excellent for a car in that price range. As for whichever car is nicer? Who knows, what you think looks good, might look like trash to the next person. Looks are subjective. If you are talking about the actual quality of the car and base features and such...I have no clue. I never checked out the xa, but comparing a $16k car to a what? $10k (is that what they go for?), i'm guessing the $6k difference adds up to a bunch of things in the tc that make it nicer....but again, I have never bothered to check out the xa in depth (the engine that looks to be weak enough to not even get the car out of its own way turned me off from the get go). Whoever mentioned that all the scion owners shouldn't be arguing has it right though.

wow, you really think you will get from 160hp to 350hp with just a S/C and underdrive pulley? Get me some of the good pills you are on.

consider this hypothetical situation:

i'm in the market for the new honda element.
when it actually hits the dealership, i decide it's hideous and opt for another car.
then i hang out on the element forums and trash the **** out of the element.

either a)i dont have anything else to do and need more hobbies or b)i love stirring up trouble.

enough already. it's like standing outside a store you don't like and accosting people about to walk in and telling them that there are stupid people working in there and not to go in.

people can form their own opinions. and the beauty of a consumer-oriented society means that scion can offer 3 different models - for 3 different style tastes. pick the one you like, drive the one you like, and stop talking **** about all the others.

So true...so true...I read alot of these posts and all I see is that "cyberwhomever" wait for someone to say something good about the car to reply with some negative comment. I would think the reason why she does this is the latter of the two. I suggest if excitement be the case, that she would try something like sword swallowing, jump rope on a tight wire on fire, or maybe get on Fear Factor. We all know that she thinks the car is lame...we get it! but honestly, she should be in the xA forum. No disrespect....but if she's older than 16, then she needs some genuine help in head.

 

How does the tC look like it was thrown together? See, statements like this are what get me...the tC, xA, & xB all have very similiar interiors. The only difference is the dash designs are very different in concept & look but they all use the same type of materials (including for the seats)...and yet one is "soooo much nicer" and not "thrown together"?

It is hard to not to get annoyed when arbitrary things like that are mentioned. Like I said in the Tiburon post, it is like people are trying to 'demonize' one car just to make their feelings more valid.

 

Yeah, everyone calm down. Each car has its qualities. But the tC is the best out of all of them so boo hoo to you.
