Default Insurance cost???

Hi all
My finance are a little thight, partly because I wasnt expecting such high insurance!! I know I dont have a credit report because I just moved in the USA but I didnt know insurance would be that high!! So I would like to know how you pay so I could compare if I really am paying a lot or if it's just that insurance are really high in USA

I'm with statefarm with a medium/high coverage.
I'm 29 and I pay 224$ a mouth, my car cost me 235$ a month, so it's like I'm paying 2 car!! I find it unacceptable!!

thanks all

Seems kind of high...especially for you being 29.

I pay $600 every 6 months (do the math) for my wife's '04 Escape. We're 22 with clean driving records. My provider is USAA though.

I'll end up paying about 110 a month through Geico.

Who is your insurance carrier? Some are just ridiculously high.

one thing that nobody has hit on here is the fact that he just moved to America...therefor he has no prior insurance ratings from any companies...its like hes a 17 year old new driver...also the state you live in plays a major role in insurance rates...i pay 1900 a year and im 20...alot of people the same age are paying half that because of the state they are in...1900 was the lowest i could get, every other company wanted about 5000 but i got it cheaper because i have been with my insurance company for 4 years now under my dads policy

I would have to agree with Itj42884.... if you are new to the US your age isnt going to be a factor cause of the fact you have no history for insurance companies to go off of.....that rate did seem kinda high though, I'd shop around a lil and see whats out there.... mine is 168 per month with progressive im 25 and thats for my 3000gt and my tC full coverave on the tC 500 ded. and minimun driving on the 3000gt

I'll go talk to my agent to see what I can do. Maybe now that I've been here for 3 months will help. Maybe also trying to have a credit report from canada.

600 per 6 months wold be more normal! heck I pay 300$ a year for my mr2 in canada! it's old tho

I'm a 19 year old tc owner in Denver, Colorado and my payments just went down from $405/month to $297/month. Something tells me I pay quite a bit for insurance!!! I have a bunch of tickets but no accidents...knock on wood.

I pay $170.00 a month.

Because I was stupid when I started driving, and I'm now literally paying for it.

Okay. This sucks. I'm getting jipped or something. I'm 30, a woman, and I pay $1200/yr. My coverage is something like 100/300 w/300 deductible. Single. No accidents. No tickets. And the sad part, this is the cheapest I could find.

Oh yeah, I live in SoCal. I know we have high insurance, but jeez. AAA wanted $!800 and other companies wanted more. How are you ppl in CA getting it so cheap?!?!?!

I hate car insurance. They just love to rip us off.
