Default Insurance for a kid with a tC

Can someone inform me on the tC and how it does insurance rate wise? I'm 17 and looking at the tC, but I'm not sure if it will go well with the parents if it cost a lot to insure. By the way, the tC will be a 2008 with standard equipment including the airbags.

gonna be pretty expensive if you put your self as the primary driver.

If your parents are cool with it, put them as the primary drivers. Then just pay them the cost of the insurance on another vechile

depends on where you live, but it will be high considering the other variables...

young driver, popular car, full coverage.

I would call the insurance company and just ask for quotes. For me, it would have cost more to insure a Civic LX coupe than a tC. (The AAA rep said it's because there's more Civic thefts.)

Be careful though. My 17 yr old cousin got a new TC and is paying her car pymt in insurance every month. She's on her parent's policy but because there are 3 licensed drivers and 3 cars they assigned each driver a specific car. My parent's policy did that with my brother too. Just something to be cautious of

Just call your insurance agent and get a quote. It's their job, and they can give you a lot more accurate information than anyone here can, since any rates would be tailored to your specific situation.

My family pays $600 a month for car insurance. My parents have fantastic driving records; my brother totaled a prelude, wrecked a lexus and received many tickets as for as I know. We own one Acura-MDX, Toyota Sienna, a lexus (which i'm not sure if it's included in our insurance), and two scion tC's. I think my insurance for just me, is about 200-220?

Wow, and I thought I was paying a lot...

On my dad's policy: ~$800 every six months.
