Its my b day today just got my license at 17 and i was wondering is there a way to hook up the ipod to play through the car speakers with out getting the ipod upgrade through scion?

you should be able to find the connector at circuit city, that's where i got mine. just looks like a headphone jack on both ends. but why am i explaining what it looks like? lol, i'm sure there's a pic in that link.
