Default iPod menu options on the Stock Pioneer stereo (2008 and up)

I'm working to altering the menus that come up when you first start up the stock tC PT546 Pioneer stereo with an iPod plugged in. Does anyone know if you can have more menus and sub-menus (the manual calls them "categories") than what is programmed in there. right now, everyone's stereo can access these:

- Playlists
- Artists
- Albums
- Songs

I'm looking to get "Genre" added to this list. Anyone know how??

Also which iPods do not charge on the stock cord? any help would be awesome.

The closest your gunna get is making smart playlists of each genre you're interested in.
Idk which ipod's charge and which don't but i'm pretty sure that ipods made after a certain date stopped charging.

i think it's the type. i hear nano's after the 3rd gen do not charge as well as iphones. i think all gen's of classic ipods do work fully. i just wanted to hear from someone with a 6th or 7th gen if they're out there

I know that the original iPhone charges. Based on Apple's description for the adapter I linked below, it sounds like iPhone 3g or newer, iPod nano 4th gen or newer, and iPod touch 2nd gen or newer won't charge and everything else should.

There are a few adapters around which allow you to use the old cables with those iPhones and iPods, including this one: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS696LL/A
