hey guys, newbie here... but recently i got a new tc, so far i hellof like this car, i think its a really cool car, i got this last monday but i only got to drive it this thursday, coz that's wen i got my insurance...

but anyway, i really love this car so far i hav put in almost 350 miles on it for driving it in 3 days!! lol, nd until yeterday wen i was goin home i heard this squeaking noise, its just kinda annoying, i did search nd found that there are also squeaking noises in other peoples car, but mine is on a different locatiion, i think, coz it's sumwer in the front right dash, or i dont know if ti's the suspension, but i think it's inside, i wouldnt have mind if it was a rattle that i got but the squeaking is just kinda unbearable... lol its kinda drivin me nuts, even if i had the music on...lol

any help would be greatly appreciated...

 

The first two things that come to mind:

1. The panels where the drivers right knee would be. Try holding them down and see if they go away.

2. The glove box. The glove box seems to squeek when it's overloaded. Try taking everything out and see if it goes away, or simply just hold it up firmly...

If it's neither, you're on your own. Either way, take it back to the dealership. Or if you'd rather fix it yourself, do a search for homebrew fixes.

 

ill def try it out tomorrow morning, o nd i think i failed to mention that squeak is most evident wen i change lanes nd hit those 'buttons' in the road nd i also hear it wen the road seems to get a little bumpy, so that kinda makes me think that it could be that im braking-in the suspension, OR my suspension is broken...

but yea ill def try the glove box nd the panels... i just hope it's nuthin major...

 

Also try the stereo cover, mine drives me nuts. I could not figure out exactly where it was coming from for the longest time! Ahhh, so frustrating this is!

 

what is with all the noise threads? Ive had mine for 3 weeks and not a single squeak or rattle.....and im pushing some serious Base throughout my car.....still no rattles or anything. I think you guys have isolated incidents. Hope you get it worked out.

My overhead door handle rattles.

 

My glovebox sometimes makes noises!!! Something under my cup holder does too..

 

ok i just came back from my drive today to really pinpoint the squeak... lol, nd i finally found it, it's on the center vents, and i kinda fixed it, wat i did was wen it starts to squaek i just turn the vents left and right and that kinda solved it, lol, it is now much better it now only squeaks on REALLY bumpy roads, and wen it does it's not that noticable nemore!! so i guess it worked but if the squeak becomes louder or worse, she's definitely gonna go take a quick visit to the dealer... lol

besides the squeak my car is pretty quiet no rattles(knock on wood) !! hope i dont get any other weird noises... lol

 

ok, actually i was mistaken lol, it is actually the radio cover that squeaks, but i found out that it only squeaks wen it's open, so im now not sure how to fix it.... o nd the vent thing... maybe it was just coincidence... lol so yea hope nebody can help me??

 

sure i can help you.. I had the squeaks from the center console.. dealer removed the console and put foam tape around the holes where the clips from the center console/dash attached to.. No more noise.. Also the door stopped making noise after that (And they tightened down the screws holding the door on)..

most of the squeaks in this car are fixed with foam tape (most of them at least).. the scion technician told me that they use this foam tape a lot on toyota cars.. Guess that's what ya get when there is a lot of plastic in the car..

 

thanks sciontc mich...i have the same problem with my radio cover..it squeks like lil mouse on and off..very annoying..i'll have the dealership fix it with foam tape this week...

 

My radio cover does the same thing. I guess I'm going to have to find time to take it to the dealership...sometime... Although I could try to do it myself, not sure if I want to tear into the dash though.

same...I just close the radio cover and it stops, but that squeaking drives me mad when its open!

yea i agree wen the radiocover is open it gets really annoying.. lol, and now ive discovered that even wid the door closed u still get a squeak wen u drive on bumpy roads for long periods of time so im definitely gonna have the dealer fix it coz i drive 680 north everyday and the squeak has got to go... lol

 

Still no squeaks, rattles, or complaints in my 2006 SW tc.

 

no problem coletrein.. yeah it's that plastic.. foam tape is the tC's best friend.. lol

 

yea my air vents rattle from my subs and my overhead handle on the drivers side.. hella annoying!!! i got foam tape where do i put it?? how can i fix the overhead handle?

 

Ive had rattles and squeaks since the 2nd day in my '06. I really wonder why this brand new car rattles so much! Is it just put together cheaply or something?
