Default Just got a tC! RS 1.0 5-speed (lots of pics)

(forgive the bread and milk shots, its a ... "tradition" used on another forum i post on; started after people posted pics about cars they didnt really have)

as you can see in the pics, my old car was an eclipse GS-T. honestly, it was faster and much better looking than the tC, but as much as i loved that car, the back seats were useless, it took 91 octane fuel, got 17-20 mpg, and was an automatic. plus, its a good ol DSM, and for those familiar with them, they start to have lots of problems when they creep up on high milage. i was looking for something fun to replace it that was more useful, got decent gas milage, and most importantly, a manual. i had driven a 5-speed 1990 turbo all wheel drive eagle talon for about a year before the eclipse, and loved every minute of it untill so many things broke on it, it was practically undrivable. but after getting the auto eclipse about 2 or 3 years ago, i spent nearly every minute wishing it wasnt an automatic. i will certainly miss the turbo and the power, but as an all around package, the tC is still very, very fun to drive and much more daily-friendly. once im done with college and out at a job making good money, i will drop myself back into a proper sports car, but for the college 'kid' in his early 20s seeking a fun practical sport coupe, this was the best choice i think.

most of its competition in the 15-20k range have small, high reving engines that lack low end and midrange power, so if you want to accomplish anything in them, you have to rev it to redline. i like the tC for its 2.4L engine and good ammount of torque for daily use as well as fun. i will enjoy this car for at least a 3 or 4 years, possibly 5 depending on financial situations, but all in all, im very happy with it. it is #1713, and currently has just over 170 miles on it. i took delivery of it just a few days ago (june 16th), and have been loving it since!

also, if you are in the san diego, ca area, my eclipse will be for sale soon. i will be putting it up online in AutoTrader.com

Lower your tC, tint it, smoke out the tailights, etc. Do some minor mods, then tell me which car you think looks hotter. A Spoiler of some sort would help too, perhaps the lip spoiler or viniati customs new g35 spoiler. As soon as I get the dough i'm dropping that g35 spoiler on mine, I can tell you right now as a guy with really good taste, it'll change the whole look of the car. It'll balance out the tC's sometimes awkward bloated looking rear end, by extending the rear deck out off of the trunk. Trust me on this, theres two things I can do, mod a car for looks, and dress well. Anywho, beautiful color, for both rides, (I'm kicking myself wishing I had known a red tC was coming out) even though I probably couldnt have waited an extra 8 months for it.

I just got mine last Wednesday, and I have the wing. This was the 2nd RS at my dealership, 1st one did not have the wing, and I did not like the car. Then I saw it with the wing and fell in love. I'm #1763.

Nice job!

I'm doing EXACTLY what you mentioned... 35% tin around, hotchkis springs/sways, factory lip spoiler. I should take delivery this week!

i plan on getting the pedistal spoiler. the problem is no dealer around me had one in the red paint, so i have to "wait till one is available" and then have it put on. ive seen ones (not red) with both the lip and the pedistal spoiler, and the lip is just too subtle. not that it looks bad, i just would like something more, but not something so much that its tacky. and yeah, i will be getting the lowering springs asap. this thing rides like an SUV compared to the eclipse (its about 6 inches taller). it will give it a better stance, and clean up the wheel gap.

It could match the rediculous spoiler on the Mitsu.

BTW....love your tC and thank you for the pictures. You are right. It is a practical/fun car.
