Just installed a few mods (thanks Matt)
I recently aquired a Ingall's rear shock brace, ployurethane motor mounts, Brother's lightweight crank pulley, and a Greddy TI-C exhaust. It took me the entire day because I spent a total of two and a half hours of driving because I had to pick up the exhaust, but it was well worth it. Because it is winter and I am in RI, working outside is not really an option, so I used my GF's parents garage, which turned out to be too small so I ended doing the work outside anyway, lol. Anyway the install of the rear shock brace was a piece of cake. I has improved my cornering and also has taken a lot of the squeaks and rattles out which is real nice. I do notice that after making a turn, the car straightens itself out much faster and the steering response has improved as well. The exhaust was more of a PITA than I thought. Now I have already changed out my entire exhaust before. I had a Tsudo cat back N1 set-up and that was so easy. I am not sure if because my mid pipe has had work done to it (resonators and such), but once it was tightened down there was one hanger left and it was ridiculously hard to get on. I had the stretch that sucker but finally it went. This exhaust is everything I was looking for. The finish is awesome and fitment, other than having to stretch the hanger, was perfect. It has a really deep growl to it and it seems like my airflow is a little better. Highly recommend this exhaust!!! The motor mount was hell due to the fact that I don't have the tools I should. Air tools should be a must cause doing some things by hand is too much wasted energy. I had sockets but I could not get any leverage to loosen those damn bolts. So I finally cut some pipe down to use as a breaker bar and the rest of the install was a piece of cake. There is a lot more vibration obviously, but you only really feel upon stat up and taking off. I feel like I can take off much faster now and I said goodbye to wheel hop. All I installed was the front motor mount because the back one is a real PITA and I wasn't gonna freeze my ___ off all night, lol! I would definately recommend to do this before you do anymore power mods. It has significantly improved the power to the ground and I feel as though I am getting my money's worth from all of my power mods now. The pulley is getting istalled today. My buddy is a tech at the dealership I work at and he said that he will install the pulley for ten dollars. Kind of a no brainer. I usually do all of my own work, but I know that if you don't install the pulley right, that it can cause some severe damage. Plus it is only ten dollars and it is 30 degrees outside, so he can do the install for me and I will just enjoy it. I will have to let you know what difference the pulley has made.
I don't have any pics or vids yet because the roads are so salty and it just snowed the other day so the exhaust is so filthy already, lol! The TI-C sounds awesome with a header, s-pipe, and 2.5" mid pipe. Bigwilly you should consider doing your header plus, you won't mind the HP gains. Everyone makes it seem like adding a header is the worst thing you could do because of the rasp and CEL, but it is such an easy fix and definately worth it. I am sure the other guys who have a header on here will back me up. But I will try to take some pics and post a vid when I can get it all cleaned up lol!
Yeah it was pretty damn cold. Towards the end I thought I was gonna freeze to death because I forgot my jacket, so all I had on was a sweatshirt. It was me being a dumbass, lol. But I love to work on the car so I still have fun, but I am happy it is over with. I think I wait till spring to do anymore work on the car!
Lol sorry guys my computer at home is down. So all I have right now is my work computer and because they are so strict, there are so many blocks that it restricts me from posting. I will try to get them up but the pulley is in and I just installed a rear sway bar too. They are both freakin awesome! I highly recommend these two mods to everyone who does not already have these. Make these your next purchase! You won't be disappointed.
