Default Just ordered a Nautical Blue 2006 tc!

I just came back from ordering my stickshift, Nautical Blue(same as indigo) tc, the salesman said it should be in within the next 6 weeks and from what i'm hearing they should be arriving sooner. Hopefully i'll be one of the first people with a 2006 in Texas. Steering wheel controls and an actual volume **** is going to be sweet. He mentioned something about a choice of wheels, anyone know about this?

Thats awesome, your love it. Is the Nautical Blue the same color as IIP, I thought it was a different shade of blue? I haven't heard or read anything about of choice of wheels besides the 18's and 19's you can buy with the tC. Post some pic's up once ya get it.

is it going to be that soon for them to show up at dealerships? My dealership is trying to find me a tc with a manual (gave them 3 color choices) and they can't seem to find one in the surrounding 5 states.

If you can, don't let them put the Bridgestone Potenza RE92 tires on it, they suck in the wet. Go to tirerack.com and check out the extremly low rating these tires have.

I don't think you'd have much of a choice over what tire comes with the car. The best he could probably do is get it with the Potenza's and then maybe pick up some Pirelli's or something. I'll probably be getting a set of P-Zero Nero M/S for the winter. They're a better tire overall according to tirerack ratings anyways. But I'm not going to just waste my Potenzas.

Then again, if the dealer is cool enough to work with you on the tires, I'm sure you could get plenty of recommendations from the forum here...

Like you, I'm stuck with the Bridgestone's right now. Maybe we can have the Potenza's shaved and use them for autocross.

I agree the, P-Zero Nero M/S are probably the best choice if you live in an area where you'll have to drive in the snow. If, like me, you live in an area with very little snow, I would suggest...

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

or...

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2

Ya, I'm in the Northeast, so "mud & snow" it certainly is. I already did a tiny bit of wear on my Potenzas from my first autocross... it's only really downhill from there.

i got the Continental ContiExtremeContacts instead of the PZeros - cheaper by a bit and they work great. By the way, if you're going to trade out your tires, your best bet is to do it right away and see about selling your RE92s to a used tire place. I got $80 for my set, which isn't wonderful when you consider a new set of Continentals is about $600, but totally worth it.

nautical blue is different than indigo ink. someone here put up pics of nautical blue on a mr2 and it looks like a flat faded blue compared to the indigo ink. watch out if the dealer told you that it's the same as indigo ink. they might have been mistaken, which is probably the case. but it's also possible that they lied and you might end up getting a call to pick up an 05 that they traded for or something.

I think he knows it's not the same color. If they wanted to keep the same color, they wouldn't have like... you know... switched colors! I think the Nautical is more of a navy blue, whereas the indigo ink is a really rich shiny blue - almost purple in some lighting conditions. Frankly, even though I almost bought an IIP before I settled on FM, I think it's a color that looks a lot better on cars that are more luxury, less sport. Think 5 series BMW or Audi or something.

In the new 06/IPOD thread there is a link to where you can find a pic of a Nautical blue car (not a tc though), and I thought it is VERY SIMILAR to IIP, In my opinion. I hope to see some real pics soon though.

i know he knows it's different, but you know sales people. they try to pull all kinds of things and tell you what you want to hear instead of what is really the case. and by the way, i didn't mean to insult your intelligence or anything Mainrodax if it sounded that way with my last post. just looking out.

I checked before ordering with another dealer and the Nautical is different, the dealer described it as the 4 runner's dark blue. Luckily my neighbor has one so I looked at his for a second. Idk, im fine with the slightly lighter color as a tradeoff for having steering wheel headunit controls and a volume ****. I like IIP more, but Nautical's close enough.
