The metal part of my key is starting to bend. Its got an arch now. Its not bad, but its kind of noticeable. Anyone else's key doing this?

Im about to call the dealer/ Scion.com and see if I can get a new one...

People at scion made a case for me, they said see what the dealer says first if the dealer doesn't want to help then call Scion back and they will see what can be done...

Well, I guess I will have to take that route. Wonder what the dealer will say? Probably not a warranty item to them.

Im pretty sure if I sat on the key, it would have riped me a new whole. I use the keyless entry to open my door and use the key for ignition only.

hey, uri geller (google him if you're too young to remember), you may be pulling the key toward you before it is out of the ignition....imo, force created the problem not soft metal or a defect....the key isn't pewter....but i'd love to see the face of the service writer when you try to warranty this one.

"hey can i get a new key under warranty? mine's melting."...jk

mine has a slight bend in it as well. No biggie. still works and all also my buttons are looking worn. but i'd say that the key is the one thing with the car that takes the most abuse so i'm not complaining.

Bakersfield, California, eh, bubblemyster? That explains it...

"In Bakersfield, 'cold weather' is merely a conventional phrase and has come into use through the necessity of having some way to distinguish between weather which will melt a brass door-**** and weather which will only make it mushy."

Obviously it's been a warm summer...

Every time I've been through Bakersfield it has been downright HOT.

I honestly have no idea what the area's like because my main concern has been to get out of the furnace and back to something that an unprotected human might survive in.

Wait! Wait! I take that back! I passed through there one night in December of 1969 and it wasn't hot. My mistake. Sorry. :D
