i see what you mean by the sag issue. but the door and the fender are'nt they two diff. part of the car and from the frame. I mean i can understand a sag issue, and i see what your talking about. But would'nt it all be conerned on the hinges itself to prevent the sag prob. If you buy ____ty hinges yeah i can understand. They soon will wear and tear. But what about the good brands out there instead of the imitations. IMO lol

well you could have at least said something like i dont like it or its going to ruin your car or something.... I just hate it when people reduce their vocabulary down to RICE

I dont mind people voicing their opinion, just gets annoying when people use the word rice when the word itself has alot of meaning.

people have diff taste . When it comes to cars, music, clothes, cell phone etc.
If you dont like it then at least say why you dont like it

Its like me walking up to somebody that looks like white trash and calling him white trash. or walking up to a gothic person and calling him/her weirdo...

just my 2cents

To me, Rice means:
1) modification of a car that does not enhance a cars looks and/or performance
2) a mod that is typical, played out and therefore unappealing.
3) a mod that that has been copied many times
4) a mod has been executed incorectly.

Rice can be used as a noun, adjective or verb!

Rice is ALWAYS subjective.

Its like me walking up to somebody that looks like white trash and calling him white trash. or walking up to a gothic person and calling him/her weirdo...
I totally disagree. judging a human being's character based on their apperance is ignorant. Judging the appearance of a vehicle based on the model, make, color and mods is not ignorant.

I agree with your def. so how are lambo doors rice? they aren't played out, and they enhance the look of the car.

How is that diff?
since some people act like a car is like a baby... "for the sake of the car"
its only fair to compare it to a person

Person that wears tattoo, piercings, too much accessories in their body that is not needed, eats junk food, etc. = Rice

Person that goes for the body builder look, no tattoo, eats healthy... has a cleaner appearance = JDM or Good taste

My point is that people is going to do whatever they want with their car because it is their car. If i think that its in the bad taste, I will definitely state why and leave it as that. Whats the sense of calling it rice? If your a person is so knowledgable with customozing a car, he should be able to advice a person that does not a thing or 2.

IMHO, I really dont like the lambo door because im sure it will cause alot of problems in the long run unless the car is not Daily Driven. I would rather spend the 1300 on dropping the car 2" and new rims.

#1 Rice is always subjective
I never said Lambo doors are rice. mrJohnson can think what he wants, I think Lambo doors are pimp. But the fact that people are questioning him for having a different opinion is weak. I'd put Lambos on my 350z roadster, and my wife's tC if I had a choice.

#2 I simply disagree with CDX8s theory that
insulting someones appearance= insulting their car. TOTALLY different thing in my opinion.

Cars are transportation, the instance you mod a car it become about being a hobby, however the instant you add rice is about attenion.

Understanding that RICE is a subjective thing means NO ONE can be "right".

thats fine with me if you disagree with my opinion. at least you are letting me know where you stand and how you feel about things. And that was my whole point is to not limit your vocabulary ( like mrjohnson did) down to RICE. I respect your opinion for that.....

LOL, this is becoming a flaming thread! lets re-direct this back to the lambo doors!!!

i'm reallllly interested in getting these, but this new deal about the sag issue is worrying me!!

1. does anyone who already has the kit have any issues with the sag?
2. if there is a sag problem, what would be an estimate on how much it would cost to reinforce or fix it?

from what i have read they will sag after about 2 weeks of being on the new hinge but then you re center them and they should stay fine from then on but i have never had these style doors so im not sure if this is 100% true or not

" you are putting the entire weight of the door on a new hinge in a new location. This causes sag. It's not a structural area built/designed for this. "

Correct me if im wrong, but why would you need to put the hinges in another place anyhow. It was to my understanding that the hinges would bolt right up to the stock holes, maybe because their 1300 dollars?

Anyone? Im unsure, but do think that the doors look really good.

Well how about this. It's not an exotic car, it's not even a "show" car. It's a Scion, just like a civic. Infact thoes doors look tacky on civics, corollas, sentras, lancers, all of them why would it look any better on our econo car?

It adds weight, hurts the car, doesn't improve looks much (in my opinion makes it worse), and costs to much money. This is the definition of rice.

You know, I've often thought about that... Best I've come up with is motorized, locking steel pylons that come out from under the car, which have 6-inch spikes extending vertical...

Seriously though, it's a mod I've definately considered. And 1300 is not bad for Lambo hinges. Most cost upwards of 1800, and that's without install... Wonder what the install costs?
