Default Leaking power steering fluid

Hey guys,

For the past 4 track days we have been seeing significant loss in our power steering fluid. My guess is that our power steering reservoir is boiling over and leaking into the engine bay.

Here is how it works...

Fluid level filled to max, over flowed out to low. cleaned up excess and ran again.

Low level still over flows and now the level is sitting at 1/4 inch below low.

It seems like it doesn't matter how much fluid is in the reservoir, it still boils out.

Is anyone experiencing this same problem?

I don't know if mine is boiling out, but it was low a while back, and I filled it, but it hasn't really gone down. The part I don't get is why it went down in the first place?

The reservoir cap fits loosely. My guess is that is needs to fit like this to allow excess pressure to vent out.

I want to know where the correct fill level is. If max, medium, and low all boil out WTH should I fill it to?

I wonder if maybe it's splashing out under hard turning? Not sure what the odd's of that are, but I thought it'd be pretty hard to boil the P/S fluid. I've heard of boiling brake fluid alot, but never steering.

Who needs power steering for a track car?
