Default Let the fun begin

Hey people. New member. Have a Black 05 tc. September it finally gets payed off and I'm going crazy. It will feel like christmas morning. Sadly I have a few dings and dents from a falling tree branch from a storm and the clear coat is peeling off. 123k miles now so the first thing i gotta do is a tune up. small things like tighten up the e-brake. fix my trunk/hatch. hydrolics wont keep it up. THEN ITS ON... The only thing I've done to it since I bought it is tinting the windows 15% and got drag racing rims off ebay for $400.. lol waste of money.

Saving up for..

A custom paint job. Thinking Silver/Black or Gray/Black
Extreme Dimensions Atlas Widebody Body Kit.
Injen Cold Air Intake, HP Gain: +11.2, TQ Gain: +9.3
Wheel Spacers.
Chrome Rims / still looking

This is just the beginning. Any Suggestions would be great. Money isn't a issue. I'm not rich but I've payed off all my bills and now I can spoil myself.

If anybody lives near Kinston NC hit me up.

I suggest coilovers and wheels that aren't chrome .. polished wheels look way better the chrome! With a wide body I would go with a aggressive wheel ,18x9 or 10 . Other than that Congrats on paying it off soon..

i have a body kit on my tC with custom paint. let me make 2 suggestions... (1) dont do a body kit. a lip kit looks just as nice (even if less original) and is much easier to modify/sell if you choose to go a different way. (2) go with a single color...something more original than a 2 tone of run of the mill colors.

Agreed for one solid color. I have yet to see a 2 tone done well on these body lines. Nothing looks right. There are some really nice custom paint jobs around on the forum.

I'm sorry. I should of clarified. I personally don't like 2 tone paint jobs. Some look okay but most are tacky. Just my preference. I'm going for 1 solid color but can't seem to decide. Gray / Silver / Black. Its Black Sand Pearl now so was looking for a change.

I prefer a body kit over a lip kit. Again just my preference. Not looking to resale. This care will be owned outright and not looking for another car payment.. although the FR-S is tempting me. I love Scion.

no no hes just lolling because its not a real number. its not like you get all that much performance from a cai/sri. i have that exact cai....i got better mpg's and it looks nicer. be happy with that - just dont expect to see a real difference in power

you want a good/inexpensive mod to make your car faster? crank pulley. costs like $120 and you will love the response you get from it (you have a 5 spd?)

A cai/Sri won't give you power. Don't expect to be fast na (unless you're tcpete).
Please don't do the bodykit. Please. And please do some sort of drop, like stechs even.

For what you want, I would add air suspension to the list as well as custom wheels to fill the wide body kit...like 19x10F / 19x12R. Other than that, just make sure the work is done well and you wont be hated on too much lol. But a drop and good fitting wheels is key to any body kit or wide body kit. You'll need something with a deep lip as well. Offsets should be in the single digits or the negatives for best results. Not saying you should be all hellacooljdmflushzzzz, but they must be flush.

You'd have a difficult time being hellacooljdmflushzzzz with a widebody, at least considering how wide the ones for the tc seems to always be.

I'm not trying to be hellacool to begin with? It's what I like. I'm 27 bro. Not trying to impress anybody. High school is over with. Why do people prefer lip kits over body kits? I'm new to this site so I don't understand whats so bad about them. I'm a mod virgin so educate me

It's not that we prefer lip kits to body kits, it's that the body kits as hayspeed said are so wide to begin with. Without a proper drop and fitting wheels, you will fall into the ricer category. Granted, you said you don't want to impress anyone, you still need to impress yourself. If you prefer to be a stock height with no wheels but a widebody or normal body kit, then fine. But I can assure you the rest of the world will make fun of you to your face and behind your back. Otherwise, heed our advice as we all have knowledge of looking good. No disrespect, I love well done cars and I hate to see people build something but get no love for it.

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

At 123K miles, change your timing belt, belt tensioner and water pump.
