Lifetime Powertrain Warranty...
I just picked my tC up last week from Scott Clark Toyota in Charlotte, NC. They said they have a LIFETIME powertrain warranty, and that they are the only dealer within 100 miles to offer this. (at no additional cost to me) They also said that the closest dealer is in Atlanta that can offer this. All I have to do is change the oil every 5k miles, and document it. Either a receipt from Jiffy lube, or the dealer can stamp it.
Question...Which is the most deadliest bear? FALSE, black bear. Black bears eat beets. Black bear, beets, Battlestar Galatica.
Sorry, I love that scene from the Office. Anyways, Question. Is this true? The car stuff, not the bear stuff. Has anyone ever bought from a dealer to offer a lifetime warranty and has anyone ever had to use the warranty, and if so, how difficult was it?

I got that deal on my car from daytona toyota in florida. I got a warranty paper etc... and all the documents... never said anything about having to change every 5000 otherwise you dont get the powertrain but ima do 5000 anyway at the dealer. It was a great deal lemme tell you lol!!! and is for real!!
^^Check your paperwork. My dealer in Tampa offers "tires for life" with the catch that you have to have all your maintenance done there.
For what they charge for maintenance you can buy your own tires three times over ...

The Atlanta dealer he was talking about is Toyota (Scion) Mall of Georgia, in Buford. From what I gather, they are one of the largest volume dealers in the state, and their allocation shows it. The warranty is from a third party, and should be good anywhere that compnay does business. I didn't buy my car from MOG (they didn't have the right color), so I don't have the specifics. It's pretty much like any other 3rd party extended warranty, except it's valid a lot longer.
You should definately have paperwork. If you don't (have the paper), then you don't (have the warranty), period.

Theres always a catch. The truth is that if u properly take car of the car it realy will last u even 200k miles. But dont forget that they can deny ur warranty claim if they see that the car was used for racing ( lowering car, stiff suspension, aftermarket preformance parts like a Turbo) They can void the warranty if they can prove that caused the problem ( for example a blown head gasket, they would say too much boost blew it or your nitrous kit f'd it up). Nothing in America is free, theres always a catch or another way to get ur money
