Default Long trip...Dummy light...

Just got back from a 600 mile road trip, both ways...1200 miles total...

I had my oil changed the day before by the dealer...and have been using 89 octane gas for the hell of it...

at about 200 miles into the trip on the way back, the "MAIN REQD" light popped on...

Going to dealer sometime very soon to look at this...

any ideas? (dumb question maybe, but what the hell)

Maybe they forgot to reset your oil change mileage counter?

That light is mainly an oil change reminder, maybe they forgot to reset it.

Heres how,
to reset it, make sure your odometer is displaying the odo and not the trip meters, turn the key off. While holding down the trip reset turn key on and continue to hold you will see ------- across the screen after all the ----- disapears the screen will read 000000 and its reset! Once its reset you can release the reset button.
