Default Low to No Cost upgrades

So I got a lil less then a month put on a 08 TC. Kinda starting from scratch. Went from a JDM CRX to a Piece of crap focus ZX3 now to My new toy. I am attempting to get the gears in motion to start upgrading.

Despite the regular intake, exhaust, suspension, etc etc etc. I am looking for the low to no cost upgrades. Maybe something that will get that 5th gear from feeling so sloppy.

So if anybody got any suggestions. let me know. Im all ears and eager to get my TC dippin on the drive to work.

Shifter kit, Dr. Iso in my mind is the best with bushings and cable bushing.

that is a great upgrade for all around performance^

But to solve the 5th gear problem you will be spending a great deal of money (or at least more than $0-$100).

If you do plan to do something about this, you could try a Lightweight Crank Pulley by Agency Power or NST for around 100-200.

Or you could go the exhaust route.

So you can get 5th to act a bit more responsive. would the trd exhaust would help??I might be able to lay my hands on that fairly soon. ill wait on changing anything under the hood just yet. I still need to break it in. I know the engine is broken in from the factory, but its got to get used to me driving it.

the trd exhaust would not help too much. there are many other exhausts that sound better than the trd just an fyi

Remember that the top gear is usually the overdrive / cruise / fuel economy gear and that would be 5th in our cars. If you want more response in 5th you are looking at boosting your power in the over 80 mph range which will cost you forced induction or expensive internal engine work.

Or a new 5th gear. Or a 6 speed gearbox. But its all expensive.

My G-Reddy Evo 2 coupled with my Megan Header gave my 5th gear a lot more response. I don't really have to downshift to pass anymore like I used to.

Im looking for something that has an aggresive sound, good flow but not drag racing loud. Cops suck in my area, Not saying they all suck, Tryin not to offend but when they pull you over no matter how curtious you are they still treat you like a crack dealer.
