Nice "kill"!

Guess you didn't see the bird, because it's always a good idea to avoid them if at all possible. People often wonder "how much damage can a bird do?", not knowing it can be quite extensive.

Several years ago I was doing about 50 on a major street, saw a couple pigeons standing in the road, but figured they'd fly since they surely wouldn't want to get hit. Unfortunately only one flew in time, then I hit the other with a nice "thump", but didn't think much of it since the car was old and I didn't care much if it got a scratch. Got to work and a few hours later left for lunch, when I saw a dead pigeon at the end of the parking garage driveway, and realized it must've been stuck to the front of my car, then slid off when I made the turn in to work. 10 minutes later at an intersection while waiting for the left turn light, white smoke starts pouring out the front of my car and it's overheating! Turns out there were about 8 pigeon quills/feathers embedded in the radiator. It was as if someone had taken round toothpicks and poked several holes in the radiator, such that pressurized anti-freeze was spewing out of each hole.

I might have killed the pigeon and won the battle, but considering the radiator replacement cost (and the way birds crap on my tC daily), I'd say he won the war.

the same thing happened to me last year, a rock knocked my lower VRD grille out. It never snapped in properly after that...and later my bumper got cracked by some other object.

Hopefully that bird kill didn't f*** up the clips or anything.

You could do a clean zip-tie job pretty easy. Drill holes the size of the zip-tie. Install the zip-tie so the
'locked' nub doesn't show. (Easier to do if you remove the front bumper.) You could get away with 8-12
zip-ties. (Example; 3 top/bottom, 1 on each side.) My FIG Grille is held in with 10 ties (4 top/bottom,
1 on each side) and it doesn't move. It can be done. It just takes patience.

haha at least the bird didnt go through your grill. then you'd have a real mess on your car. the zip tie idea sounds best if they stand out against the black grill you could paint em too.[/b]

Haha... Funny stories guys... Well, I managed to get the grill back on with no mods... There were a few tabs left that were damaged, but not completly broken off... It looks like it's gonna hold, i pounded on it with my fist and it didn't fall out so... I'm hoping it's gonna stay put for now... Clean up sucked though, I grabbed the bird with a HUGE pair of Channel Locks lol...
