A little story about what happened to me today for anyone who's willing to listen...

I pulled up to the gas station to fill up with "cheap" ($2.55/gal) gas and got out of my tC. As I started filling up, a middle-aged man walked up to me.
"What kinda car is that?" he says.
"It's a Scion...made by Toyota" says I.
"That's a nice car....never seen any of those before" says he. At this point I was quite surprised at the fact he never saw a tC before. I mean I've had my car for almost a year already! They're everywhere in the Bay Area, just yesterday I saw 4 flint mica's parked at the movie theater parking lot...one on each level!
So I say "Thanks, but they're pretty much everywhere now"
He says he only saw the xB and asks what this one is called...xA?
I told him it's a tC. Then he asked me what kinda engine it had and I was happy to explain. Then he asks me "Does it get good gas milage like the rest?"
" No...it has pretty bad gas milage compared to the xB and xA" I answer.
"How much?" he asks.
"I get about 25 mpg" I tell him. At which he is really surprised and says "wow that's good gas milage." After this he tells me again what nice car I have and gets into his old Neon (explains the gas milage part) and drives away. I don't know why but that really made my day! My car wasn't even in good condition today...i haven't washed it in a while and a bird went crazy on my car a couple of days before! This made me feel good about my car choice and even though I see a million tCs everywhere now, it makes me feel secure that I drive a one of a kind car (even if it is still stock). Eh or maybe the guy was just nuts.... But anyway, thanks for reading =)

 

That happened to me yesterday at the gas station. It made me feel good, but I still miss my integra.

 

the first time i drove around with my tc, i swear that people were looking at my car...i felt as if "all eyes were on me..." well my car anyway. hehe. wow. 2.55 a gallon is cheap? over here it's 2.08 being the cheapest. =)

 

Wow that is cheap. Here in tx it's 2.28 for regular, so I pay a little more for plus.

 

It's up to over $3 a gallon here.

yea, $2.10 at shell! Everywhere I go asking sth for my tC, everyone asks me how nice is it and stuff like that! I'm PROUD to tell them!

ah, that was my gas price like two months ago. now it seems to be stuck at $2.something plus. i am going broke over gas expenditures

 

not one person has said a word to me about my car...

maybe cuz i live in motor city... and go to school about 1 block from ford world headquaters. everyone around me drives American. So if you don't get a new mustang no one pays attention to you

 

For some reason, the only people that comment on my car are rednecks in big lifted trucks. I've always thought that was a little strange.

A lot of other people stare, but most don't actually comment.

 

i love the feeling as well, its happend to me a few times. one time i got nervous though. i parked in front of a liquor store and got out of my car now im only 18, and this cop came up to me, and im thinking im screwed, but he came up to me just to ask me what kind of car i had and to talk about it.

 

when i bought my first xB, it was only the 3rd in jersey, i know exactly how u feel it is awesome when people do that to me.

 

I would have popped a cap in that pig's ___!

 

No ____... we are the only ones fighting for that land... I say we take the damn oil for free

But.... I just paid about $1.95 for mid grade yesterday here in minneapolis ... NA NA NA NAAAA NAAA ! Sorry , had to do it... cause I think it is going back over 2 bucks this week anyway!

 

I've got 18's, ground effects, trd drop, tint, tailight overlays, red leather interior. Everywhere I go, mouths drop. Just yesterday I was in the parking lot of a supermarket cleaning the bug guts off the front of my ride (2 hr drive from State College , PA) and some like 35 year old dude comes up to me "That yo car? Man thats a nice car, just like a little old race car". Stand there, looking, talking to me occasionally, I'm obviously freaked out so I'm like "uhhh yeah well I'm gonna take off now, later". Same day, I'm pulling through the drivethru of a Wendys, pull up to the window. Lady looks at me and does a double take , she says "wow...." pauses for about 10 seconds then says "nice car....cute car!". Earlier that same day, I'm driving at Penn State and pass maybe 3 or 4 10 year old boys who yell out to me "NICE CAR!". All in a days work. I'll tell you about another time. I went on my break from work to a fast food place, pull up to order, some guy leans out of his car behind me "MAN YOUR CAR IS BANGIN!" he says. I just kinda say thanks but i dunno if he heard me. Then I pull up to the window, lady in the window is like "maaaan nice car, handsome black man in a nice car will you marry me?!" and goes on and on. THEN I get back to my job and some girl who is one of my friends sisters comes in and immediately says "hi because she recognizes me, and goes off on a tangent about how "beautiful" my car is. On another day, I go into Autozone to get some cleaning ____, and two of the employees come outside to see my car. Ask me all kinds of questions. I buy like 60 dollars worth of stuff, but the one dude lets me use his employee discount for no apparent reason so I pay like 45. Then I pull the car around, pop the hood, etc. Dude they drool over it for like 15 minutes until the boss comes out and tells em to get the eff back inside. Then dude takes my number and says hes in a car club and wants me to join. These are just a few examples, every where I go I see stares, people yelling out to me, and everyone who gets into my car says "bangin car" or something along those lines. Man it's been 6 months and its still as if I'm driving a ____in viper or something. Just hook ur car up, keep it super clean and you'll get all the attention you could ever want because of it. Kinda obnoxious actually. I got towed a few days ago and I know if my car didnt stand out so much, I would have just gotten a ticket like everyone else who parks in that same space. Not to mention the time I got pulled over and had my car searched because the cop was curious and thought it was some expensive sports car. Oh well it's worth it.

 

haha same here. the first time I took a spin in my car i noticed everyones head turn to look at my car. it was a great feeling. I dont notice it much anymore, mainly cuz i dont pay attention. Oh and also the 2nd day that I had my car I went to in n out and in the parking lot this man came up to me and complimented my car and took a peak inside. he said "wow nice looking car" it was such a great feeling. i think i might have blushed

 

i get compliments from old people sometimes. high school kids twist their freaking necks all the way around as i pass by. the only dirty looks i get are from honda fan boys.

 

Lets see......First time i had a ton of questions asked about my TC was like 20min after i signed the contract for it. Ever since then I am either approached in a parking lot or on the street by people asking about it or complementing it. I was @ Frazoli's the other day and a few of the people who worked at the drive through were saying "Nice car" "How fast is it" "It sure looks fast"....but yea i like the attention, unless im in a hurry lol.
