Maint Required Light
Hey i was just wondering if it was normal for the Maint Req. light to come on at 15,000 miles, or is it a coincidence that my battery died the other day cuz i was workin on my car and being the idiot i am lol i left the car on but not started and the battery died.
according to the toyota service manual, your car SHOULD be in the shop every 5000 miles for at the very least an oil change. There is other maintenance to be performed every 10k miles or 15k miles. Check your manual for exact specifications.
Yes... Oil Changes... scheduled maintenance. You should have, but if you took it in for maintenance, they might have reset it it. It isn't exactly at 5,000 or 10,000... it's an interval of 5000 from the last time it was reset.
you can set the light to whatever you want
if i remember correctly
1. switch the car on, display the odometer not the trip meter
2. turn off
3. while turning on, hold the button down
4. you will see 5 dashes appear then start to disappear
5. depending on when you let it go, each dash is 1k.

You DA MAN!
1. Switch the car to IGN-ON
2.Display the odometer
2. Turn IGN-OFF
3. While turning back to IGN-ON, hold the trip meter reset button down
4. After a few seconds, you will see 5 dashes start to blink
5. Hold down until the maintence light flashes.
it is complete after the maintenance light turns off, now let go of the reset switch and start the car normally.
LOCKED.
