Default Marina del rey scion of los angeles review

well i have been searching for a tc for my fiance and have been calling all around southern california. wel i came across marina del rey scion and asked if they had a flint mica automatic tc....Travis, who was the representitive there told me yes. i asked no other options?? he said "no other options".

well i checked out the marina del rey website and found that they were selling a flint mica for 17900....almost 700 more than their no haggle price msrp. so i decided to chat with a scioon representive...and well...this is how it went:

Please wait for a Scion Customer Advocate to respond. You are number 1 in queue.
You are now chatting with Moe
Moe: Hi christian
christian: hello?
Moe: How may I help you today?
christian: i have a question regarding msrp pricing
Moe: ok
christian: the scion tc is listed with an automatic transmission @ 17200...but this dealer at marina del rey is selling one at 17900...stock
christian: i thought all prices were the same for every dealership
Moe: 17265
christian: yup
Moe: What options do they have on it?
christian: they say none...just that it's automatic
christian: i can send you the link
Moe: That shouldn't be correct.
Moe: Please do
christian: http://marinadelreyscion.com/framese...vehicle_search
christian: travis, a representative there told me it was an automatic scion tc...stock. but it is listed at 17,915
Moe: let me check hold on
christian: my fiance and i were hoping to buy one soon as this seems to be the only flint mica automatic in california available. all others have claimed a 10-12 week wait
christian: thank you so much moe!
Moe: None of them have any options mentioned
Moe: Did you ask Travis if there are any options on that one.
christian: yes...he said it was stock. that is why i am so confused as to the price
Moe: Let me call hold on
christian: thank you
Moe: I just spoke to Christian
Moe: He stated that that veh the 17,900 was a vendor vehicle that was sold to a private vendor under special circumstances
Moe: These circumstances are not applicable to the public
christian: so what does that mean?
Moe: The other flint mica is available with options build on
Moe: to it
Moe: That means it is sold
Moe: The 17,900 one is sold
christian: so he doesn't have the flint mica any longer?
Moe: The other one is available with it does have some options.
christian: oh
Moe: Yes they have one.
christian: i was hoping to get a stock one
Moe: It is 20,072
christian: yeah..that's a bit much for my fiance
Moe: You would have to order one stock if you wanted one like that. This one has some options already on it.
christian: ok
christian: thank you moe
Moe: No problem
Moe: There isn't any issue here with our pure pricing it looks fine.
Moe: Sorry I spoke to Travis
Moe: He said he is holding it for Chris
Moe: I don't know if that is you.
christian: i think that is me...he is holding the stock flint mica?
Moe: No the one with the accessories.
christian: huh? he told me that was stock
Moe: Ground effects kit, spoiler, sec sys, wheel locks
christian: oh my god
christian: even my fiance called to make sure that it was a stock automatic
Moe: Price is that 20,072
Moe: Sorry I'm just the messenger.
Moe: Maybe you have to spell it out for auto sales people.
christian: i know and thank you for being very helpful...you saved me a 16 mile trip and a headache
Moe: No problem.
christian: thanks again moe
Moe: Thank you for visiting. Please contact us again.

flat out the scion dealer was either lying, uninformed, or was using a sales tactic. i called up Travis the very minute to clear things up and when i offered to get the tc if he would just take the "accessories" out he said "no, people like it that way"....well travis, i don't like it that way...and you just lost yourself a buyer...

Yet another California Scion dealer flat-out lying to potential customers. At least you got it sorted out before you were there. Unfortunately, the honest dealers seem to be few and far between there. I wish you luck, though!

reminds of the Prius' the wait for one (atleast in the SF Bay area) is about 8 months. So when dealer gets one thats not spoken for, they jack up the price, up to $5000 plus MSRP.

I don't know who's more at fault. The dealers or the buyers that drop the extra cash anyway.

Yes, go to Longo. Read this: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20632
Same thing happened to me, but I was dumb enough to drive the 20 miles to realize I was lied to... Good luck in your search for your fiance's tC

Be careful with ANY dealership you visit! I had an unfortunate experience at Longo so beware. I don't care what people say on this board, most of these sales people are crooks. ...You just have to find the "dog" with the least amount of "fleas".

Default Power Buena Park - check out

Check out Buena Park Scion and ask for Mohamed Karboush in the fleet dept. I just got mine from there yesterday and the experience was nothing but pleasant. There info is:

http://www.scionofbuenapark.com/deal...ion-buenapark/

Phone: (714) 522-6144

Off the 5 and 91 frwy

Just a few miles away is Fullerton Toyota/Scion. Don't bother. I waited for 10 minutes and left because nobody offered to help. Plus, had bad experiences with them in the past.

My sales rep told me that he was making no money on these tc's due to the fixed pricing. I think I tend to believe him considering how apathetic the other dealers were that I first visited. And we all know what it is usually like the moment you step foot on the lot!

The reason the tC was priced above the $17,265 was because it had floor mats at $145 and side airbags at $650. It was a vendor purcahse which means Scion sent it to us (Marina Del Rey Scion) for a specific person.
The second tC that was offered to Christian was a customers order which was canceled due to the customer having multiple orders at different Scion dealerships and the vehicle arrived at another dealer before it arrived at ours. The accessories on the tC could not be taken off without damaging the car. For example the tC had a body kit and rear spoiler. If taken off the vehicle they would leave holes.
If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. I'm the Scion / Fleet Manager here at Marina Del Rey Toyota Scion. My name is Brett. The phone numbers are 310-821-8979 ext 210 and 310-210-4340.

well the fact is i PLAINLY ASKED TRAVIS IF IT WAS STOCK, NO OTHER OPTIONS. he replied yes it was. then when i called him back after he was CAUGHT he tried to back peddle and say "well what do you mean by stock. i mean it came from the factory like that, so that is my definition of stock" <---please Brett, isn't this the biggest pile of you know what?

doesn't matter. i am dealing with addrianne from carson toyota. as you can see from the dealer review section that she has many reccomendations and i can see why. she was not pushy. she didn't push for options and told us exactly what the price was, what apr, etc. everything was clear and simple and painless.

the fact is, i wouldn't have known the whole truth until i talked to a scion representitive. i know the key to salesmanship is to get the people in the door first. BUT LYING IS INEXCUSABLE!!!!
