May 15th
Please don't buy gas tomorrow, its May 15th. Buy today if you need it. Many other people have been spreading the word about this already.
A lot of people are making assumptions by saying that they will just make a lot of money the day before or after May 15th. Well I don't think this is going to matter considering that this same event actually was put into effect in 1997. The gas companies lost over 2.1 billion dollars on the day that no one bought gas, and the prices dropped 35 cents. So you know it really wouldn't hurt to participate in this, since this has already worked in the past. Better to try it than not try it at all, since the gas prices are really high right now, and may go up to $4, or if you don't give a ____ about paying a lot for the gas then fine.
P.S. Please forward this to anyone else that you know.

Oh come on... I thought people got over these things.
It doesn't matter if people don't buy gas tomorrow... they'll just buy it today instead or the next day. Same amount will be sold and oil companies don't give a ____.
If you want to make a case for something... start asking people to not make any unnecessary travel and cut down on gas consumption in general - then they'll buy less which will be kind of win win, since we won't be using as much of our resources. And that doesn't even have to be one day.

The only Logical way of seeing any results would be if we boycotted only one gas company then they would have to lower thier prices and we'd all buy from them and as a result the other companies would have to lower thiers to keep profit. Thats the only logical way not a one day boycott.
The only way you could influence gas prices by not buying gas is if a significant amount of Americans went WEEKS (note the S) without filling up. But you won't get the majority of Americans to go car-less for weeks just like you wouldn't get the majority to go cellphone-less.

NO ONE likes the gas prices where they are - but this will not do jack ____ to bring them down or "prove" anything to the oil companies - except that people are dumb enough to believe this crap and pass it on.

Just shut your mouths and do it, just do it.
wow...people who believe in these stupid gas boycotts are stupid. it is supply and demand, just not buying gas on one seemingly arbitrary day of the year does nothing! you are gonna need gas sooner or later. hey, guess what, i'm participating in the gas strike! you know why? because i filled up this morning! i shouldn't have to fill up until friday! so whoever doesn't buy tomorrow will just be back later anyway.
a gas strike would have to last MONTHS which impossible because you would have to fill up sooner or later, even if you stockpile gas, you still paid for it.
if you want to really stick thumb in the eye of the oil industry, get a diesel car, and fix it to run on biodiesel which you can make out of waste kitchen oil and lye, after filtering and performing a titration test, and processing it.

I don't care what part of the service you served in or what "top secret" crap you had access too... not only does that NOT prove you know more about this country than anyone but it also does nothing to validate this "one day gas strike" crap.
I think I'm going to buy some amount of gas tomorrow just b/c this guy says not to. I have a full tank right now, but I'll go drive a little tonight just so I can buy gas tomorrow.

I do i need to come up with more examples of stuff that was tried and worked when people weren't sure about it, well too bad I'm not goin to.
